Not a great movie, not a terrible movie. A 50%er. Connor MacGregor is no great actor. Of course Jake G is not much better.

Hey Floridians from the Keys. Did you know there are crocs in the sea by the Keys?

LOL!
Saltwater crocs have been in the Keys for many, many years, perhaps forever. They have been sighted as far north as Satellite Beach and will not stop a Honda doing 60 mph.
Canaduh.

Yes, I do know, apparently you do not. See, it was also an educational movie for your as well.
We have saltwater crocs here in SWFL. They are pretty rare and bashful.
It’s actually not a bad flick. Way better than the reviews led me to believe.

Not too bad, good snowy day movie.
They should have renamed it.

I'm waiting for Beetlejuice 2 this fall myself.
Posted By: killerv Re: Road House (2024) on Prime - 03/22/24
Started it last night, not feeling it. Guess I'll finish it this weekend though.

If yall have never seen Gylenhal in Nocturnal Animals...you need to. Basically a road rage incident gone really really wrong. Great movie.

They're in the Glades. I've seen some yuge ones down by Flamingo in Everglades National Park.
Writer kinda sucked . No Sam Elliot’s character?

Nowhere near as good as the original

Haven’t seen the new movie yet. I used a line from the old Roadhouse an hour ago. My orthopedic surgeon gave me a cortisone shot in my wrist. He said your gonna feel a stick. I said “Pain don’t hurt”! 😂

Thought maybe you smashed his knee and said "Damn, that hurts doesn't it".

Whadda bout the new Ghostbusters?

With Dan Akkroyd and Bill Murray.
the original Road House was not that great a flick. I can't imagine a modern, woke remake would improve it.

We watched half last night, before thunderstorms jacked up the cable. Lots of diversity in that movie.
Amateur CGI, as with most remakes, would not recommend.

Great flick, if you enjoy cocaine.

Won't watch it, Conor is an embarrassment to MMA.

I didnt see any reviews before I watched it. Afterwards I thought dang that was a let down.

Yes. In the original that’s what the bad guy tells Patrick Swayze when they’re fighting by the pond.

But it bombed.

Good movie.

I didn't expect much, and wasn't let down too awfully bad
Posted By: EQFD193 Re: Road House (2024) on Prime - 03/24/24
For me it was an hour & half I will never get back.. waste of time. Oh and I don’t think Connor was acting, pretty sure he is like that off screen.
Posted By: cisco1 Re: Road House (2024) on Prime - 03/24/24
Watched a half hour of crap.
Like most remakes,, a poor reflection of the original. Says a lot here considering the original wasn’t that good either.
Best thing about the new Roadhouse is that it doesn’t take itself very seriously. It’s kinda slapstick.

Had some pretty funny scenes, but don’t think I’ll be watching it again anytime soon. Or ever.

It was well worth the price of admission, LOL.

It wasn't bad to have on in the background while I was doing something else.

Watched it this weekend. It was OK.
But, of course, not near as good as the original.

I actually thought Connor McGreggor was pretty funny in it.
11/2 hrs of Bzzzzzzz.

Not a cinematic masterpiece, but enjoyable and funny. Jake has come long ways since Brokeback Mountain.
Good mindless entertainment.

LOL.
It almost seemed like a parody to me.
Posted By: CRS Re: Road House (2024) on Prime - 03/26/24
Meh, something to have on while in the reloading room.

I would not call it a good movie by any means.

A bunch of you acting like the original was some cinematic masterpiece.
The Drinker always has an interesting take on things.

No too young for Lonesome Dove.
I watched it last night. I won't watch it again.
I liked the original. Haven't seen the new one.

If it wasn't free on Prime, I wouldn't have either. It was good in the sense that I never fell asleep while watching it, i.e., it was entertaining. Far from a cinematic masterpiece, however, needless to say.

It was pretty much on point.

Love a good review! Just subscribed to the reviewers channel. He's at least entertaining.

Critical Drinker is generally a good guide for the average red-blooded male. If he really likes something, I'm rarely disappointed when I view it in person. It doesn't hurt that he's got a sense of humor about it also.
Not to sidetrack the thread, but The Critical Drinker is the best and most entertaining movie reviewer I've seen since "Joe Bob Goes to the Drive In" back in the early 80's.

Feel like I just watched the movie there, no need to see more. Never did watch the Point Break remake either.
Posted By: add Re: Road House (2024) on Prime - 03/27/24
It was fine entertainment.

Beats the fug out of back-to-back Gun Smoke episodes.
Wife and I watched it. Both agreed it was a waste of time. The original is a whole lot better movie. Why do a remake if you're just going to half ass it?

I could not have said it better. Gyllenhal has the acting skills of a rock.

He does an almost fair job in the action scenes, but never shows a hint of emotion through the entire movie.

I really enjoy the Critical Drinker. Especially when he talks about "the message".

I watched 10 minutes of it, pure garbage
If they could run julie michaels through a
time machine back to her teenage years
and have her dance around in it like 1989,
I'd consider watching it
