Not a hobby birdwatcher by any means, but I knew more than I initially thought. Some species are very generic such as duck, goose and chicken. Others are more specific such as Bob White Quail and Cardinal.

Here's a short humble list. Goose, Duck, Owl, Chicken, Cardinal, Bob White Quail, Dove, Crow, Sand Hill Crane, Grackle, and Pheasant. I'm sure there are more too.

What is on your list?
Crow
Crane
Blue jay
Cardinal
Dove
Goose
Pileated Woodpecker
Kill deer
Oriole
Red winged black bird
I have an app

But a lot without it
Seagulls and Loon are distinctive too.

I'm sure some of our waterfowl hunters can distinguish between many duck and goose species.
All of them. I hear their sound and say:

"That's a bird".

I don't know how many, but my favorite is the Wood Thrush. Any time I hear them, it's in the woods, and I'm fishing or hunting and it's always a good time. Same goes for Whip-poor-wills and Chuck-wills-widows.
About a hundred ish. Or fifty.
Never actually thought about it,15-20 maybe

Dude! Chicken? Really!?!
Okay, so how many bird calls can you make, without some kind of device, well enough to fool them, at least a bit?
I suspect y'all can identify Turkey and Dove too.
