A fictional work about Florida in the past. Maybe more truth than fiction?

Question of the day, when will a similar work be done about the USA?

Read it a while back, overall pretty good but a little more fiction than I like in my history.

"some names were changed to protect the innocent" I grew up down in Kissimmee. Many of the incidents, and many of the people involved were known to me as a young lad. Most of the story took place in and around that part of Central FL.
