Dang Roger, that is sweet.
Nice work.
Nice work. The base profile loots about perfect for an all around hunting knife.
You need a makers mark at the ricasso if you continue down this road.
Thanks, I'm happy with this one. I'm getting there on that quest for perfection, maybe before I die, lol.

Where can one purchase one of these???
Where can one purchase one of these???
I'm going to make some more, my real job and time allowing.
Nice work! Can you give us a run down on materials?? I like a skinning /hunting knife that is very slightly blade heavy when balanced at the front of the scales/handle.
Engrave that slogan on the grips, and send me one - with the bill!

I was at a gun show today. There were some custom knife makers there. You could teach them a thing or two Roger. You have a gift bud.
This will upset biden voters

Roger, what's the blade length?
I'd be interested in helping you start a new career if I can get one in 3.5" or less
Would like one of those myself. Be proud, excellent work.

Cutting edge is a smidge under 3.5
Perfect, that means if my shirt tail falls over it and covers it from view it's still legal here.

I'm going to order some CPM154 stainless next week to use instead of the 1095.
Built in bottle opener too.
Just a simple bottle opener for me.
Nice looking blade, Roger.
Told its not proper work attire. π em π
Wearing a Trump shirt with the saying would help on the floor, but doubt the office. Again, π em lol
deal to sell this knife fell through, so it's for sale $150+ 10 for priority mail. prefer cash app.
Pat yourself on the back Roger. That is a new level of kool.
kwg
Dude,
That turned out nice.
Love the handle profile. I bet it feels as nice as it looks.

It's so light it feels almost like you have nothing in your hand.
Looks good Roger! ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
Nice work! I've made my living making knives for the past 25 years or so. Always enjoy seeing pics of nice knives. Very nice job.

Thanks, I just started doing this back in November.
Instead of CPM 154 you may consider magnacut Instead. It has become one of my favorite steels and is about the only stainless I use these days. 154 is good steel too so not trying to sway your decision.
I'd say you're doing extremely well for not having been at it for very long. Really like the style of this blade you just made.

I was going to get some of each, maybe I'll go with the manga cut, I'm planning on making some fillet knives also.
I think you'd be extremely happy with the magnacut.
bummer, I wasn't on the 'fire yesterday.
I hope the new owner enjoys it.

Nah, I'm retired..........................every day is like Sunday to me. I can take whichever one off I want.....................or six in a row off.
Impressive Roger. Even more so considering you are really new to the art. Congrats on a new talent revealed. I can't wait to see new stuff.

yeah, I was going to buy a new knife, and I thought to myself hell I can make one I have all the skills from other stuff I've done in the past it shouldn't be too hard.
If you clean the rust off the scale you might get it down to 375.0
Very nice though.
On your next version I might move the drill bit that you used at the bas of the blade out just a smidge so that the base of the blade is at 90 degrees or less.
A true blade smith could talk about the structural reasons. Aesthetically I think that it would look better.
On the bright side it will continue to improve with every sharpening!
I do like it though.
