We're totally overhauling the kitchen and I'm building all the cabinets. I tore out all the base units, including the sink, last week and the stone place came yesterday to measure for the new granite counters. We'll be without a sink for about 10 more days. My wife took the old sink out on the deck and set it on 2 buckets for washing dishes. She'd haul water out from the laundry room sink. I needed to redo the drain lines under the sink and wanted the sink in place for an accurate measurement. I clamped the new sink to a couple 2x2's and suspended it across the new sink cabinet. I got the drains hooked up temporarily and came up with a 'temporary' faucet. It's just like camping out.

What else does she need? I mean, damn, this is awesome.

I would like to do the same. I built my son and his wife a small house and just added an addition, still working on it, but there are no cabinets yet, I have never built cabinets and dont have the time even if I could, looks like they are going to have to bite the bullet and get them built by another friend.
Great project!
My wife has knee problems and can't get down to get into low cabinets so we went with all drawers. There are no lower shelves at all. I've built 30 so far and am working on the last 10. I'm getting much better at it but they take a lot of time and careful measuring. That's what makes them so expensive. It's the labor.
