With the two around here you can always find a pump (they have 120 pumps each)... and I will say, they have the nicest bathrooms of any gas station and even most restaurants - stores I have ever been in. Very clean, very nicely set up and plenty of places to due your business....

They can get a little crowded with all the people... Also I prefer my wife to stop there if I am not with her because of all the people and being so well lighted just feel safer for her...

The food I have had has been pretty good and they certainly have a good selection of it...

From the salaries they post for their employees it seems like they pay them very well and maybe this is one reason it seems all of them work hard and do their jobs...

It's such a tacky business our local Lords denied it a zoning change, although Bucees would pay for rerouting an expensive interchange already planned, bring in $20,000,000.00 tax revenue annually, require virtually no municipal services, stimulate interest in local downtown, and spin off small retail business on adjacent property. It was a really tacky idea!

It is a weird experience for sure, proves my age and alien origin. Decent BarB Q sandwich....

In 1970, Schlitz Brewing came to the city heads in Palestine, TX wanting to build a brewery.
"We have a commercial park with lots of land! Whatever you need! A cool million per acre!"

The Schlitz guys went to Longview, TX.
City fathers told Schlitz, "We have this commercial land available. Build your brewery here and you can lease the land for a $1/year for 100 years.
Schlitz built not only a brewery, but a canning facility and a plant that made the cans!
Schlitz has since sold out to Stroh's. Not sure who owns it now!

Yeah...but the grocery store just asks for my phone number when I charge my beer.

I have to remember my wallet if I go to town pump.

Unfortunately Town Pump is the only place to get MGD bottles.

They built one a couple of years ago about 15 miles from home. I have to drive right by it to get to the hunting club. It's a good place to get breakfast at 5AM before it gets crowded. The place can be a zoo at mid-day. 200+ gas pumps and most of them full.

I dislike that culinary affectation of dribbling some saucy stuff with a squirt bottle, in little squiggles, UNDER the food.

Hey chef, .......................................if your sauce is really good.....................put the schiedt on there like gravy of something.

There ain't hardly enough there to bother wiping up with a piece of fancy bread even.

You ain't for from me, I hear they are building another around Brunswick if not mistaken.

It aint bad, clean, tons of peoples but a lot of registers open, never in line long. The brisket sandwiches aren't bad. All the boats guys hit it for the highgrade non ethenol
Posted By: Cheyenne Re: Buc-Ees, never been - 04/17/24
They opened a huge one between Cheyenne and Denver about a month ago and my travels have put me there 3 times since it opened. The gasoline is about 50 cents a gallon cheaper than up here. It's also kinda like a combination gift shop and food court (but no tables) at Disney World but with a beaver instead of a mouse motif. You could pick up some fun stuff for gifts that isn't available around here.

LOTS of people, slightly better clientele than your local Walmarks.

I went for the first time recently and twice on a trip last week to New Orleans (business trip, nasty town, fantastic food if you know where to look). Buc-ees is like nothing I've experienced, a mass hoard of people of all sorts, must have been spring break as there were lots of kids/families everywhere, never seen a place so full of people. Food, gifts, clothing, just about anything you can imagine. Place was clean, employees friendly and bathrooms nice and clean. Plenty of gas pumps to get in and out. Mostly found that there were way too many people everywhere and would generally avoid the place unless there weren't better options. The amount of money changing hands was staggering, I'm talking hundreds of people in and out at once, all with something in their hands. The got us for about $100 as I was looking for last minute birthday gift for mom.
