Beat The Penguin, not the messenger
Sorry for the lack of zoomy graphics -- as you know, Penguin is away hunting (he says).

Happy Thanksgiving to all you turkeys out there
This week's picks (along with inane drivel):
CINCINNATI - I don't have a real good feeling about this one.
ALABAMA - I always used to pull for the PlainWarTigers in this one. New head coach altered that.
PITT - If the Earmounters are going to get me again, they are going to have to do it by winning this time.
BOISE - Seems like the thing to do.
CLEMSON - I can't get past the fact that the Henchasers' bowl game last year showcased the most poorly prepared football team that I have seen in fifty-some years of paying attention.
OKE STATE - This is a very good football team that has managed to stay below the radar. OU? Who knows what they will do on a given day?
MISSOURI - I don't think that Kansas can gather itself.
BYU - I really want to pick the Youths, but their showing so far doesn't justify it.
LSU - Screw-ups and complete lack of quarterback play will still not be enough for the Swine to prevail.
GEORGIA TECH - The Wretch's offense can either dominate or else resemble a jazz group in terms of planning and organization. I am hoping for the former. 44 points
yeah Les, you remember that sig line you used to have
"I'm not worthy to pick...."
+++++++++++++++++++++
A man's got to honor his bets,ya' know! And yes, you're old!
That's mean.

I'll be just fine at 9-1.
I've not looked at your picks but when have you ever gone 9-1?
Did someone say Turkey????
Only damn game that counts this week is Florida/FSU.
I'll take the Gators.
Cincy
Bama
WVU
Boise
South Carolina
Oklahoma
Kansas
BYU
LSU
Georgia Tech...63
Only damn game that counts this week is Florida/FSU.

I hope FL gets the ever-loving crap kicked out of them.
1. Illinois at Cincinnati
2. Alabama at Auburn
3. Pittsburgh at West Virginia
4. Nevada at Boise State
5. Clemson at South Carolina
6. Oklahoma State at Oklahoma
7. Missouri at Kansas
8. Utah at Brigham Young
9. Arkansas at LSU
10.Georgia at Georgia Tech -- plus total points for tiebreaker 57
Well, I studied real hard this week to come up with winners --- now I just need a little bit of luck!!!
1. Cincinnati (Not a chance for the Illini)
2. Alabama (Auburn will play tough but come up short)
3. Pittsburgh (Another close one)
4. Nevada (BYU defense will cave in)
5. South Carolina (Only because they're at home)
6. Oklahoma State (Who's beat up the worst)
7. Missouri (Well, someone has to win)
8. Brigham Young (Home advantage)
9. Arkansas (Hogs will cut loose)
10.Georgia Tech (Probably the best team in the country)+ 69
I'm scared motherless about LSU in the Arkansas game....after all the turmoil this week about Miles self destruction against the Rebs.
Fingers crossed for the Aggies to knock off Texas, but that's a longer than long shot.
Games 1 - 4 are on Friday
1. Cincinnati
2. Alabama
3. West Virginia
4. Boise State
5. Clemson
6. Oklahoma State

3. Pittsburgh
4. Boise State
5. Clemson
6. Oklahoma State
7. Missouri
8. Utah
9. Arkansas
10.Georgia Tech -- 51 pts.
Will,
I was very tempted to take ARK as well. Still might. I think that's a good risk pick.
You shoot anything??
David
Today's games could eliminate some of the players.
If WVU beat Cincy, I could really get into today's WVU/Pitt game.
If WVU does beat Pitt, maybe it will be anther SEC bowl matchup for them.
Not today, I'm afraid. But, it wouldn't hurt to be wrong on this one. Especially if it gets WVU a better bowl game.
1. Cincy-Closer than most think, tho
2. Bama-Again close
3. Pitt-Just for Isaac
4. Boise State-BCS be damned, they're going undefeated again
5. Clemson-Despite their rough start Clemson is the team to beat in the ACC. They play football there.
6. Oklahoma-If they can field a team due to injury, they will pull it out.
7. Missouri-Big Coach will be gone if he ain't already., You just don't do what he did.
8. BYU-I'll see your wife and raise you two.
9. LSU-Not real sure why LSU fell apart last week, the hat will keep them in line for this one. If they could manage a damn clock, they would be sitting at two losses.
10. Georgia 32 Georgia Tech 21-Total points 63-GT ain't the 7th best team in the nation, and Georgia ain't as bad as their record indicates.
GT is more like one of the top 3 teams in the nation. You're looking at another 6-4 week. Sorry!
5. Clemson-Despite their rough start Clemson is the team to beat in the ACC. They play football there.
FINALLY--No question mark at the end----Progress is realized---;)))))))))))
Look at the injury list. 3 Pitt DB's are out. Playing at WVU with little to lose. That train whistle will be a blowing in MorTown.
BTW the last line I saw was 1-1.5.
Why on Earth am I telling you this?
Pitt Wins BIG!!!!!!!!!
GT is more like one of the top 3 teams in the nation.
Yah but Clemson "they play football there" goes on to beat GT for the ACC title game. Remember Atlanta game 2 and the end? Different outcome in TPA.
30 mph winds and Pitt will line up on the WVU backs. I'm figuring Pitt will have 3 INTs before day's over and I hope they're just not converted to scores. Most of Morgantown is empty for the break.
bwahahhahahahahaha---the only folks who go to WVU live in WV. They'll drive back for this one. Heck the whole town will be there.
Well, we have about 30 students from WVU in this area home right now. They're not going back today.
WVU's non-resident student population is huge. You really don't think a majority of that football team are WVa residents, do you?
I figured that out from the fact the team wears shoes.
GT is more like one of the top 3 teams in the nation.
huh?...oh, I see, it's Isaac posting
never mind....reverse jujitsu at work
I believe all of Morgantown will be there along with the train dood. All of these stadiums today will be jammed. Check out Bryce stadium tomorrow. I'll bet not one empty seat.
I figured that out from the fact the team wears shoes.
Now that's funny Steve!
GT is more like one of the top 3 teams in the nation.
huh?...oh, I see, it's Isaac posting
never mind....reverse jujitsu at work
++++++++++++++
You're just pouting cuz I picked Miss and Arkansas over LSU!
GT is a top 3 team...you'll see what I'm talking about today and when they put the hurtin on Clemson, who I'm switching to today.
your reverse jujitsu must be breaking down, since Ole Miss won....or at least, LSU lost/committed suicide.
but I do appreciate your picking the Hogs, I won't be so nervous during the game.
BTW Miles has achieved verb status: to Les Miles = to totally F up, as in "they had it won, but then they Les Milesed it".
Hope he can rally the boys, or maybe they'll just get mad and take it out on the hogs. Or not. I have, like, zero confidence factor.
Clemson,who I'm switching to today.
Do it!!---I am switching to SC for all the right reasons. Better do some more homework.
I thought you wrote yesterday that this game did make you nervous!!
Who knows who's gonna show up today!
Clemson,who I'm switching to today.
Do it!!---I am switching to SC for all the right reasons. Better do some more homework.
+++++++++++++++
I so love getting inside your heads!
I thought you wrote yesterday that this game did make you nervous!!
it still does, but I feel lots better knowing you have given the Hogs the proverbial kiss of death
OK wiseguy....I'm predicting you're killing the biggest hog Caryonah has on it's property.
I so love getting inside your heads!
Keep on thinking that way. Last time I saw your head it was on some kind of dancing elf.
Your Penguin season ends this weekend. Beat by a newbie rookie. Oh my!
You are 3 deer up on me, however. I give you that.
no, please.....wish that on 1960
I still need my big buck though. Wierdest rut I've ever seen on this farm I primarily hunt. Does came in sporadically and way off schedule. They also stayed in the deep woods for the first time instead of coming out into the clover and corn. I guess when all the acorns are gone, the big bucks will come out to feed. Only 11 8 pointers, 3 10 pointers and 1 11 were taken so far. That's about 1/3 lower than year's past.
Went out yesterday Hoop becaue Va allowed turkey back in for the day. Heard turkey, some were barely seen as we had a real thick fog until 11am yesterday. First time everyone was skunked on Thansgiving morning.
I'm going out tonight. I've heard the big one on woods edge when the yearlings graze. I may just stay out of the stand and pick a spot behind him another 100 yards way up the hill with a lounge chair. Out of the wind. Thinking he's picking up on me by being in the stand. Just makes for a longer shot.
I've been texted about 10 times now from my buddies telling me to get my fat ass out there. It's gotta be blowing 15-20 out there and those already thre have only seen a sprinkling of does and a couple of turkeys which are out of season now. they say the wind is going to pick up here even more so it may just be a day of balgames for me until tomorrow when I scoot back out there with my kid.
You must be in SC!
Yup down in SC for the holidays, hunt and big instate rivalry tomorrow. Back in DC next week and onto Japan for 10 days. Then I'm done for the year. Everyday in the woods from then on until January 5!!! But don't you worry as they have the Internet over there and I'll continue to catch Foxbat in the standings.
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Go Gamecocks!
Go Tigers!
UGH!!
That's mean.
Hadda be said.
as soon as I get this walker oiled up, I'm hobbling down to kick isaac's azz
god but I hope I can remember what I'm supposed to do when I get there.
Randy...I had to grab onto a tree stand rail to keep from stumbling from my stand the other day. I pulled a muscle in my ass playing acrobat. My ass is already kicked so save the oiling!
god but I hope I can remember what I'm supposed to do when I get there.
put a sticky note on the walker, I find that helps.
Cinci is whopping Illinois.
28-7. Ain't even halftime yet.
Illini looked good at first, but their defense pretty much sucks.
Offense isn't too bad, just scored again. 28-14
against big Can't Count doormat, well, ...yeah
Cincy's coach is the hottest in football right now. If he doesn't have his RR styled way at the school this year, he'll most likely be Notre Dame's choice for head football coach by year's end.
Didn't Coach Rod carry that same "hot" title once upon a time?
He should have never left Clemson. DA!
I wouldn't wish that ND job on anybody these days.
1. Illinois at Cincinnati .... oops, game already started CIN would have been my choice
2. Alabama at Auburn
3. Pittsburgh at West Virginia
4. Nevada at Boise State
5. Clemson at South Carolina
6. Oklahoma State at Oklahoma
7. Missouri at Kansas
8. Utah at Brigham Young
9. Arkansas at LSU
10.Georgia at Georgia Tech -- 55
Damn Yankees.....CBS up here is carrying some Cindy Crawford special, and paid programming, instead of the Auburn-Ala game.
WTF....do they assume all their viewers are gay, or what? I mean, yeah, they voted for Obama, but still.
found it on something called MYTV, whatever that is.
good game, Auburn putting an ass whoopin on the Tide so far
I'm telling you it's upset weekend. I'm convinced FSU is going to beat FL.
Good news is nobody took Auburn. This is a sign I'm going to change my ARK pick if Bama gets whacked.
(Picked earlier)
1. Illinois at Cincinnati
2. Alabama at Auburn
3. Pittsburgh at West Virginia
4. Nevada at Boise State
later:
5. Clemson at South Carolina
6. Oklahoma State at Oklahoma
7. Missouri at Kansas
8. Utah at Brigham Young
9. Arkansas at LSU
10.Georgia at Georgia Tech -- 60
What are you picking for tie-breaker points - - 0??
Not going to matter cos he took Pitt. Oh wait most everybody did. Including MR WVU himself.
Bawahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!
WTH is WVU thinking? GFG. Take the points!!!!!!!!!
Oh my! And the train blows!
isaac you in bed?
Vengence is mine, sayeth the 'eers.
I might have taken them if I wouldn't have wanted to pile it on Isaac. Once again, my judgement has been clouded by wanting to have a chance to make fun of Isaac. That alone has cost me 8-10 games this year. DOH!
Without having to look it up, who else did Pitt lose to this year? If it was a Big Yeast opponent does that give Cincy the title before they take them on?
Never mind, I looked it up. They lost to NC State???? Pitt shouldn't be able to win anything after losing to that turd of a team, but if they win next week, they are the Big Yeast Champs.
It's all an exercise in futility anyways, Cincy is going to flog them like a rental car.
Eh, you might be surprised. Pitt's defense is very good, plus the game is at Heinz field. The only time Cincy has beat Pitt was in 8 meetings was last season, with 5 losses at Heinz. It'll be a good game, either way I'd imagine.
Cincy has a piss poor defense, which may very well cost them...
Randy...I had to grab onto a tree stand rail to keep from stumbling from my stand the other day. I pulled a muscle in my ass playing acrobat. My ass is already kicked so save the oiling!
well dang, that changes things Bob, I hope you heal up fast, if not take some good booze the hog hunt, perhaps one of the gents will take pity and rub it for ya!
oh wait Sassy will be there, green hornet will be out hunting.... but remember Bob, she's got little ones. Think how Les would feel?
better just soldier on with game face.
hey speakin of guys rubbin your azz, if all you guys are gone hunting, does that mean Northern Dave is gonna tag alla ya?
Go 'EERS!!!
That's one I'm happy losing.
Go 'EERS!!!
That's one I'm happy losing.
It won't be the last one.
My confidence has now soared.
You best be dead on with the SC-Clem and LSU-ARK games. They will be deal breakers for many.
here's where the cream rises to the top
good luck today gents
notice how Will bailed when things got really hot and heavy?
can't believe Northern Dave hasn't started a thread about why he's really gone!
do you think TX will bump AL for the number two spot when the polls come out?
CJ SPILLER for Heisman.
Clemson 7-0. Spiller just burned the whole field.
Gamecocks have found their game. FINALLY!
btt
who's yer matter daddy?
Freaking Gamecocks---I take them every single game this year and today they finally show. I knew it!!!!!! I just knew it!
I blame my dad for talking me into taking Clemson. No BBQ for him tomorrow.
I blame my dad for talking me into taking Clemson. No BBQ for him tomorrow.
That's mean.
Go Clemson!
My sister just sent me a picture and text from the game. She went to Clemson. Said it was so loud there you can't even hear the person next to you. Guess a ton of the SC student body stayed or went back for this game.
I forgot the rules. What is the latest that one can change their pick? Up until KO or only up to the start of the first game of the day?
Thanks
by noon today, buddy! Sorry. Which one has you second guessing?
By noon today, buddy! Sorry. Which one has you second guessing?
Hotty Toddy loses to State
all of Starkville will be [bleep] up tonight
5. Clemson-Despite their rough start Clemson is the team to beat in the ACC. They play football there.
====================
Yeppers!
5. Clemson-Despite their rough start Clemson is the team to beat in the ACC. They play football there.
====================
Yeppers!
Holy crap---you really did take SC.
%$#$&*&^^%^$#@#@%$^&(*)(*&&%^$#%$#!!!!!!!!
Anybody watching the Fla/Fla St game?
I'm never watching football again. Screw it!
Stoopid Gamecocks---Stoopid me!
Actually I'm glad they one!! I just felt Clemson would show up and take it away from them.
I need Missouri and Arkansas to come to play today.
Don't look now, folks, but RWE, ewc and sgt217 are 6-0...
I need just the opposite.
SEC crew calling the Florida-FSU game. FSU may as well pack up and go home now.
Don't look now, folks, but RWE, ewc and sgt217 are 6-0...
+++++++++++++++++
And they have LSU and Kansas....Those games decide the day.
yeah....ugly first series by State's freshman QB. Game could get ridiculous real fast.
Ole Miss as losing to Miss State last I looked...that's an upset.
what a day of college football, some ranked teams are taking it on the chin!
god but I love this game, where emotion and who-wants-it-most
still play a large role in the outcome.
first Aub dang near upsets Ala and now all these other great games
imo college game has it in spades over the NFL. YMMV
holy smokes lookit the Sooners puttin it on OK State!
Don't look now, folks, but RWE, ewc and sgt217 are 6-0...
I would be also had I just stayed with my season long Gamecock pick. Dang. I should be burned at the stake.
Still going to hit a 9-1.
Comon Kansas!
gooooooo MO
one tiger pick burnt you, get ready for phase two of you can't hold a tiger by the tail byc
Ark/LSU could be a beauty of a game.
or perhaps not
gulp!
yeehaw, wish I was parked in front of a TV instead of the office puter
gooooooo MO
one tiger pick burnt you, get ready for phase two of you can't hold a tiger by the tail byc
Man wouldn't that suck? To go 7-3 with all my losses coming from Tiger mascot teams.
Ark/LSU could be a beauty of a game.
yeah, keep rootin' on those Hawgs, Isaac
the fan reaction against Miles has been brutal this week....he needs this win badly, along with one in the Cotton Bowl, or he better invest in a remote car starter.
LSU wins. ARK is a flash in the pan.
Gawwwd while CF is a great game
someone please explain to me how the rankings work?
USC ranked 20th with 3 losses, and some not so close of a loss
Kansas 14-3 over MO. -- 8 to go in the 1st half.
cripes just checked the score
jayhawks came to play
that's the trouble with these things, teams having a bad season psyche themselves up to make or break their season on the last couple of games, teams that have done good while not coasting go into thinkin "yeah we got this"
and....SHAZAM upset city
Tigers better get something in the tank as they're tanking hard.
freakin Bob may have infected me afraid to say
"gooooo T_ _ _ _"
do I use the reverse triple whammy, blammy and puke while I utter "gooooo Ja_ _ _ _ _ _"?
hey! did I get screwed? did Bob pick MO?
this just in
Urban Meyer quote of the day
"F a bunch of in state rival upsets, we ain't havin any of that"
1ak you still working there pard? You need to get out of there and get ready for that LSU game. It's gonna be a good one.
KS 28 MO 19
28-26 Randy. Don't fret. Tiger's O is rolling. 2 possessions...2 scores.
Geeezzzzz--I'm gonna stop posting the KS MO score. Every time I do MO scores.
holy smokes lookit the Sooners puttin it on OK State!
Even in a bad year for OU, the Cowboys are their poodle. Particularly at home.
Expat
Look again
I'm diggin' this game as much as the Ole MS game.
2 seconds ago. You look in 4 minutes when Mizz scores for the 4th time in 4 possessions.
gonna come down to a final play---maybe 7 over times.
it's a great game to watch. MO uniforms are pretty cool too. stealth looking
Florida wins. FSU and St. Bobby lose. Six in a row.
I still don't understand why UF/FSU,one of the biggest rivalry games in college football, does not get a mention in this silly weekly guessing game.

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carolina loses!!! To the Wolfpack!!! Wheeeeeeeeee!
aii yii, yii, did they score?, I'm following on puter
1st and goal in the RZ....
51 seconds MO ball at the line.
Final play ending---UGH!
c'mon no fumble, take a knee, try driving it on 3rd down, if unsuccessful kick a field goal with 2 seconds on the clock
that's exactly what they are doing. i see a blocked FG coming.
wth just happened?
team rush for a loss of two, did they fumble the snap?
wtf is a team rush?
oh got it, they're following my strategy to take time off and kick the field goal for the win.
should have tried punching it in 1x imo.
Kicking fg which is good but flag on D--declined--MO 41-39.
Hawks played tuff!
Good game!
at the end of the season the isaac jinx is broken
goooooooooooo MOoooooo
how you standing Bob, did that tie you with the leaders this week?
and you should be piling it on Sean IIRC
Ask him where he stands in the over all. Isn't that what it's all about? Enjoy today Bubby!! ARK will lose. No way I lose to 3 Tiger teams in one day. Dang Dang Dang!!!!!!!!
Congrats Foxbat---that one keeps you one up on me.
Good picks this week Darby.
I let my stepdaughters pick 5 each week till last week.
I am enjoying.
grin, you're so charitable
As you should.
Hey Sam congrats on the Gators win. They've always been a major PITA for my state. But congrats nonetheless. A perfect regular season is indeed hard to come by. In any sport.
David
I let my stepdaughters pick 5 each week till last week.
Teach them how to gamble early in life. Smart!
so somebody else's kids can be the suckers.
LSU up on the Hogs 7-3 with five minutes left in the fist quarter.
So Missouri won?

If this is considered gambling, I pray it's the only gambling my 20 and 18 year old daughters know.
So Missouri won?
Watching LSU/Ark
Me, too....obviously.
Why is it that Arkansas always has a hyper, gimmicky offense. Changed coach, new QB, but still a weird looking offense...not as weird as Nutt's was, but still.
Tigers don't look too bad, considering all the the distractions this week.
Wooo-hoooo....Holiday just scorched them for a 90 yard punt return. When that little sucker gets loose, ain't nobody gonna catch him.
17-3 LSU.
Sam...I'm thinking Florida/Bama will definitely be on the list next week.
This is when LSU is at their best. Plus they want to see me go 8&2 this week.
Sam...I'm thinking Florida/Bama will definitely be on the list next week.
Does this keep going? What happens with the week one picks we made around conference winners. Hopefully out the window because mine were way off! Although, I did pick FLA Sam. Heck we all did!!
That Ark QB can throw some ropes, man! Too bad it hasn't been to a receiver as yet.
17-6 LSU at halftime.....LSU defense controlling Arkansas pretty well.
ND and Stanford tied at 7 at the half.
ESPN halftime show devoted to a triple BJ on Tim Tebow.

Did I really just hear them say perhaps the greatest player in College Football History? I mean seriously....
As you should.

David
and congratulations on a wonderful SEC win by the Gamecocks over Clemson.
oh yeah! Clemson is in the ACC championship game too.
17-6 LSU at halftime.....LSU defense controlling Arkansas pretty well.
ND and Stanford tied at 7 at the half.
ESPN halftime show devoted to a triple BJ on Tim Tebow.
I'd hardly call it a 'triple BJ' though. "Fitting tribute for Tebow" maybe.
LUS does suck Steve, but you knew that.
Thanks--I get to watch South Carolina's 2 largest Universities play during the remaining holidays in significant bowl games. While I always wish for more it's the least I can hope for. It's good for my state, which needs an uplift. Especially, this year.
It was a good day.
David
yeah....the way they were going on about him, you'd have thought they were talking about....Obama, or something.
Tigers score again, now it's 24-13 LSU.
Mallet can't hit his receivers....he's missed some wide open guys. And their running game isn't working.
Oh good grief---Now Georgia is 2 TD's up on Tech.
as an aside the new "Beast uniforms" by Nike are way cool.
guess Fla and Fla State were both wearing them
but MO vs. KS only the Tigers had them, you can really tell the difference when looking at them next to old unis
I fully expect Georgia to kick overrated Tech's ass. Remember, Isaac thinks Tech should be No. 3.
between that and the Clemson/SC game one might almost spot a pattern of second or third tier SEC teams beating highly ranked teams from other conferences.
Meanwhile, Hogs got a nice drive and score another TD. 24-20 LSU
I can hear the Cincy-TCU-BSU fans already! And perhaps rightly so. Could be another messed up BCS kind of year.
wow barnburner with LSU and Hogs
yep---and Tech just put up 7. heck of a run.
Man that was one whale of a helmet to helmet hit. HUGE call!
bad call....it was the receiver who was moving.
LSU better man up...two good plays by the secondary.
What a hit! Kept Ark from scoring.
Ouch another big hit. LSU's defense is slamming bodies.
4th and 9 on the LSU ten, minute and a half to go. This down is the game.
crap....they got it. TD Hogs. LSU has a 1:18 and one time out to get to a tying field goal. Deja vu from last week.
Think the coach figgured out the clock thingy?
Jefferson has the deer in the headlights look, takes a sack, and now they waste their last time out. It is freaking Groundhog Day.
Surely the entire LSU field goal team is standing at or about the 25 yard line
one would think, wouldn't one?
Nice 2 minute drill. Got Ak to call a time out.
well, at least they're going to get a chance to try it. not really liking out chances in OT the way the Hogs have been moving it on the last two drives.
I'm still waiting for the Curse Of The Isaac to kick in.
To boot Georgia is up by 13 with 14 to go...
stupid play calling, and a bad throw on third down...and Lafell hurt. that's just great.
Who one the coin toss? I was watching the GA game.
Good ballgame. Congrats Steve!
Ark won the toss, and just missed the FG they needed to keep tied. LSU wins in OT 33-30. Whew.
Arkansas is a pretty good team and played hard enough to win....that was a near run thing. I guess the Football Gods didn't have the heart to bust the Tigers' balls two weeks in a row.
3 losses is a lot better than 4.
Who won the OK game, and the Utah game?
So if GT loses I'm 4-6.
The cat is dead! Look at the bright side. Wolfpack won!
I truly feel LSU's coaches are holding this team back.
Incredible Top 10 in the country talent as they are coached down , and play to the level of their competition.
Gary Crowton (O-coord.) is mediocre at best and Les Miles doesn't have the balls to make a play change when it comes in from upstairs.
LSU has been surviving on talent all season long and it almost backfired again.
Stanford and ND tied at 38 with five minutes left.
missed the FG, now Ga. can run out the clock.
meanwhile, the Cardinals are stuffing it up Notre Dame with a winning drive....fist and goal with a minute to play, still tied at 38.
Tech has the ball with 1:42
I seem to have the kiss of doom, wonder if it's marketable?
Stanford scores....Notre Dame will lose its sixth. maybe that will be enough for the ESPN guys to quit talking about them.
Tech just blew it, They had it. Don't mind missing that pick because now they go to Tampa to play an also beaten Clemson team.
I should have picked my Gamecocks---I hate myself for that.
I'm exhausted after today!!!!!!
"Well, I woke up Sunday morning with no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.." said Johnny Cash. My sentiments exactly.
Not sure if Penguin is around to put up the scores from Week#13. First glance shows a first-time chicken-dinner-winner by virtue of the tiebreaker. Total in the GA-GT game was 54, Cheesy chose 53 - Congratulations

GT is more like one of the top 3 teams in the nation. You're looking at another 6-4 week. Sorry!
I just wanted to highlight the insight and CFB wisdom that you continue to instill in all of us. If I was unsure on this pick, you calling them a top 3 team sealed this pick for. Thanks to you Isaac, I was one of only a handful to get the GA/GA Tech game right. GA Tech would get beat 8-9 out of ten times by 15-20 of the nations top teams.
Top 3 team? Not a fricken prayer.
BTW, 8-2 beats 7-3, doesn't it?

Dammit Darby, I make a post telling Isaac that he's full of crap, and you go and post something like this showing that he's ahead of me for the season.
Thanks, thanks alot....grin
Tech just blew it, They had it. Don't mind missing that pick because now they go to Tampa to play an also beaten Clemson team.
I should have picked my Gamecocks---I hate myself for that.

I actually went with South Carolina, and then changed my mind and went with the team that was hot right now VS the team that I thought to be better.
BTW Darby, I will go back and check, but I thought that there was someone that went 9-1 this week.
Check again -- oh, that's right, you went 10-0
Congratulations, Roy -
Never mind about someone going 9-1. I just came up with that late last night when I was trying to determine if I had won or not.
You have to check such things, Isaac, when you go 8-2.
Check again -- oh, that's right, you went 10-0
Congratulations, Roy -
I like your math better than Isaacs. 6-4, hah!
Arkansas is a pretty good team and played hard enough to win....that was a near run thing. I guess the Football Gods didn't have the heart to bust the Tigers' balls two weeks in a row.
3 losses is a lot better than 4.
First let me say State kicked OM's azz.
Now I would like a little say about last weeks game vs LSU for which OM will apparently receive zero credit, that it was pure dumb luck. Les Miles screwed up big time at the end, of that there is no doubt. It's how we arrived at that moment that gets lost.
OM lucky? HA!
Luck is your QB throwing an INT and upon the subsequent return for a touchdown two severely questionable flags are thrown against your opponent that negates the TD AND backs them up 25 total yards. (The SEC has since reviewed this play and admits it was BS)....and then...
...blocking the ensuing FG attempt and having it bounce just right so you can run it back 50+ yards for a TD is luck.
Luck is a strange sequence of events that causes a 14 point swing in your favor.
Luck is your defender pushing a receiver out of bounds, having the receiver come back in bounds to catch a touchdown and then having that TD reversed for "illegal touching" as the receiver was said to have "voluntarily gone out of bounds and was the first to touch the ball."
Luck is 113 yards in the 4th quarter when you'd only had 182 in the 3 quarters prior.
Luck is getting the ball in the 4th quarter down by 8 with 3:42 on the clock being 66 yards from the endzone when your best drive of the night was 53 yards and marching all the way for the TD.
Luck is scoring a TD down by 8 and getting two chances for a two point conversion to tie the game.
Capturing an onside kick with no contention is luck.
Luck is a 42 yard completion on 4th and ~27.
Almost everything listed above is fairly improbable to occur within a football game, much less all in the same game and all in one team's favor.
All this surely falls on deaf ears but there it is FWIW.
Nail
Congrats Cheesy.
Pornstache is still a thorn in my side.
Nail, I don't disagree that the Rebs outplayed the Tigers most of the night. But the Tigers had a chance to win it, and blew their chance through coaching errors.
I don't deny Miles made an epic F-up and stated as much. I just didn't like the fact that OM wasn't getting any credit for their play. "The Hat" stole OM's glory.
Nail
Congratulations Cheesy!!
OK, time to get serious, I expect to win at least 8 games preferably ten games next week so choose carefully
Watch out Darby, I'm gonna move you a bit further down the list next week
I can see you flashing your lights and honking the horn to pass, but I HOPE I have enough of a lead. I'll be the first to admit the ol' confidence is long gone - I'm really circling the drain. But, as always, I am optimistic I will do better next year...
Holy smokes, didn't expect that. I quit paying attention when KSU lost the game to Nebraska. Win and they go the Big 12 championship, lose, which they did, and they go home for the rest of the year. What a strong year in the Big 12

Keep looking down the list punkin' and you'll see where you are in the grand scheme of things. GT would beat OSU 8 times out of ten. Losing to Ga doesn't change my thoughts at all. GT could beat any team in the country were they playing their A game.
They play football at Clemson, don't you know?? LMAO!Plus, if Arkansas could kick a chip shot field goal, you'd not even be thinking of being so bold, Mr. blind luck, for once.
Clemson will beat GA Tech in TPA. Revenge will be sweet.
Are you the same isaac that also once declared WVU was a top-three program - ? The laughter is still echoing.
GT could beat which OSU - ? Ohio State? Oregon State? Oklahoma State? None Of The Above - - - Maybe the Cowboys on a really bad day like they had yesterday.
GT looked surprisingly lame yesterday - maybe they can bounce back against another lame team next week. Maybe not. That lame game will be one of the final week's picks. Maybe.
Initial line against Bama at 5
Gators 11-1 -- ??? Put down that pipe, byc
Missing week one hasn't helped me...
Congrats Cheesy-

I don't know what's so confusing to you Darby. Are you denying that WVU wasn't a top 3 team in 07 when they were playing for the NC game? GT/Clemson should be one of the top 5 of 10 games selected for next week. Who picks for you...the kids!GT could beat any of the OSU teams you mentioned....regularly.
Gators 11-1 -- ??? Put down that pipe, byc
Oh shoot that was from last year. Line is 5 against Bama. I thought that sounded high. No pipe. My bad!
Talk about whacko!
The Alabama Crimson Tide is undefeated at 12-0, ranked #1 in the country, yet they are a 9.5 point underdog in Saturdays SEC Championship game against the Florida Gators (11-1) at 4:00pm EST on CBS.
byc,
what polls/rankings are you referring to ??
I don't believe the Crimson Elephants are ranked #1 in either of the 2 polls below
2009 NCAA Football Rankings - Week 14 (Nov. 29)

edited: i see where you corrected your mistake above
Yah I was just trying to find any kind of line on the game and did not note the 2008 date. Gotta watch them Vegas people ya' know. Sorry for the excitement but had you wondering.
Well, the BCS computers currently have Bama ranked #1 so there was one...
I expect at this point you go on strength of schedule and perhaps the whole style points scam.
isaac, I was referring to one of your bizarre proclamations earlier this year to the effect "WVU would be a top three team if they had an offense" (or defense, I forget which). I assumed you meant that to mean top three in a somewhat lesser conference. Anyhow, I will cut you a bit of slack - it may well have been another isaac posting here
. Had nothing to do with 2007.
Did you text your message while driving your Subaru on I-95 - ?? Try not to anger folks any further - they still sing that song about you.
As a gesture of pity and recognition of your condition
, I'll make sure the GT-Clemson game is put up as a pick. You are welcome.

Well, if the polls had an ounce of credibility, Bama would be #1 based upon SOS.
Back before the BCS the polls used to actually take pride in voting, using SOS as a major factor, now they are all lazy and vote like chicks at a beauty pageant.
There is not one single solitary reason UF should be ranked above Alabama. And before some dumbass claims you shouldn't drop if you don't lose, that's precisely how UF passed Michigan in 2006 for the shot at the BCSCG, so that's a nonstarter.

You doing bong hits? WVU controlled Auburn for all but 6 minutes and barely lost 2 both Auburn and Cincy. If WVU had a pass rush and a defensive secondary and not lost a good few to that douchebag,RR,, whole new season outcome. But I'm sure you can even remember what WVU did to Georgia and Oklahoma. And what Cincy, Pitt and WVU will do in theirs. maybe the whole conference is in a bowl game this year. I can't blame you for being ignorant of one of the fastest developing powerhouse conferences in the league, though. It happened so fast your blink has caused you to lose focus on the last 3 years.
I'm in the battle of my life with the All-time worst in Penquin history!
Do I win anything if I let Les beat me??
Do I win anything if I let Les beat me??
You get to play for the Lions!
Pass that jug, amigo - you are slipping away. Borderline irrational, in fact.
I fully expect Cincinnati to do well "IF" their defense can hold up. They seem to give up a lot of points, do they not - ? As for your statement "IF" WVU had a pass rush and a defensive secondary blah blah" - well, perhaps, but you know what is said about "IF"...
One sure thing - Big East gets a bcs bowl, even if only by default. They might deserve more, but apparently no Bowl wants to put up with their obnoxious fans
Please pay attention to your driving out there on I-95.....
Georgia fans are worse than any BE team. Cities around this area just cringe when the Dawgs come to town. Speaking from experience, they destroy everything in their paths and leave it all behind for good folk to clean up.
