I'd say more like $375.00 - $450.00. What stock?
Posted By: ironeagle_84 Re: whats the value? - 01/06/10
synthetic is all i could tell you. black...

New it probably went for 410. IIRC the wood blue went for 369.00

New hawkeyes are just a hair under 600 and it's 2 body styles old so to speak.

i might be able to buy it for 350, so i was wondering about the fairness of the price. i have shot it before, and it kicks like a mule, but i would "modify" it a bit and make it better grin campfire style...

Surf Gunbroker and see what similar ones are going for. I'd be on it at 300.

me too. i will have to look.

The past few gunshows out here there has been a pile of wood stocked tang safety M77's--asking price running $450-$500. Figuring gunshow prices, I'd say it's worth $400-$450.

If this is the one you were considering making into a 375 H&H in your other post here I would suggest you pass and look for something else. As a 300 Win, it would be an all right all around big game gun.

yes, but i want a bigger bore.

Just buy the Ruger Alaskan.

375 Ruger and a sweet big bore.

All the pluses, none of the minuses.

i love it when people tell you to buy more gun than you can afford. if the gun i want to buy for 350 can be made into a 375 ruger great, if not, oh well.

i cant buy a new ruger alaskan for that, and this gun has less than 3 boxes through it. friend to friend deal...

Hmmmmmm . . . . .

350 for the rifle, and then how much for the action job and barrel? $300 each? That's pushing $1,000 and the new rigers have a very good trigger and are CRF.

Or did you have some other options in mind--Like DIY work?

this would have been some pay as you can afford it, get it when you are done working, and watching the kids and house sitting for them. oh, and i also bring them firewood.

I think you should look at the 9.3x62 before you jump into the 375 H&H.
Posted By: ironeagle_84 Re: whats the value? - 01/07/10
i would do that as well, i am just beginning to look right now, nothing is going to be decided overnight, and certainly not the caliber.

i was just asking.
