and died of course. Sunday was the first day we noticed it. Yesterday it was horrific, today it is lest noticeable. I tried to vacuum it out, no luck. Can't get at the duckwork. Help! sick
Perhaps some potpourri?
Forget about it. It will mummify eventually.
That's no good, mice shouldn't be in there. Ducks only! mad

Seriously tho, if i lived closer I'd bring eener over there, he's a mini doxi & he loves dead mice. We could send him through the ducts & he'd find that mouse.

You sure its in the duct work? I had a small rat die above my bedroom and the smell bought ran us out of the house. I finally went looking for it and found it under the insulation.
Toss a cotton ball into a small cup and soak it with vanilla. Put the cup into the duct.

It ain't perfect, but vanilla-dead-mouse is an improvement.

Vacuum hose too short? Call your local friendly carpet cleaner with the 50' hose lengths.
Duct cleaning company?

Local carpet cleaner is a good idea, and probably also specializes in duct cleaning as well. Depending on how your ducts are laid out, you might be able to use a chimney brush.

I had a mouse build a nest using a roll of toilet paper in the fresh air duct of my pickup. Smell went away, but ever so often when I turn on the fan, little bits of toilet paper still come shooting out.

Yep, dead mouse stinks to high heaven, little bastards used to crawl in and die in the duct work in our house in Divide, I feel for ya. Les
