Same here Randy. Was in a hurry late this morning to get back home for the game and did not stop. Now I have to bolt out at halftime for beer, wings and Halloween candy. Always something!

3-0 Pack, early in the third.

Pack oh-for-six on third down, Rodgers is 4, for 16, or so. 'Bout fifteen rushing yards thus far. This a pathetic impersonation of a football team (and game).
Posted By: Mako25 Re: NFL Sunday - 10/31/10
How's the lions, 'Skins doin'?
Posted By: byc Re: NFL Sunday - 10/31/10
Can't believe how fast that Pack game is going. It could be over by 3.

Niners over Broncos 3-0

It's appreciated.

I cut a range session short to listen to this. It'll be the last time, 'til several changes are made with the Pack.
Posted By: Fubarski Re: NFL Sunday - 10/31/10
Mako, voice of experience here.

Though it may hurt now, when your team has a few bad seasons(KC Chefs fan here), it helps you appreciate the good (and even average) ones.
Posted By: Mako25 Re: NFL Sunday - 10/31/10
Rodgers 7 of 21, for 85 yards (one sack, the O' line is playing great), and the usual non-existant run threat.

Crosby missed a FG attempt going to the break, so this one stands at an ugly 3-0 (Pack).
Posted By: Mako25 Re: NFL Sunday - 10/31/10
One of my first memories of Packer football was Bart Starr getting hauled off the field for what turned out to be the last time. It was 25 years of horsechit to mediocre before the Pack was good to great for a decade, and a half.

I know "stink". , Starr, Gregg, Devine, Infante, oh help me, I'm having flash backs.
Posted By: isaac Re: NFL Sunday - 10/31/10
Nice 23 yard punt,Skins. That Smith guy sucks. I don't think he could even kick a chair out from underneath himself!

dumbazz game... Geez.. If the final is 3-0 I will be totally amazed..
Posted By: Mako25 Re: NFL Sunday - 10/31/10
Bad, the defense is playing lights-out (three turnovers), the O'line is more than holding it's own, but Rodgers is off, and when he does get one in the vicinity or a receiver - they drop it.

Crosby connects for a FG from 41 yards.

Pack 6

Sanchez, and the Jets have plenty of time, and a TD wins this.

I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling for a positive outcome for the Pack.
Posted By: byc Re: NFL Sunday - 10/31/10
All 140 pounds of Banks runs one back for a TD.

Skins up by 5 -- should be 7!
Posted By: Mako25 Re: NFL Sunday - 10/31/10
Sanchez stinkin' worse than Rodgers (that ain't easy today), overshoots again, and the Jets turn the ball over on downs at 4:12 of the fourth.

If the Pack can get a few first downs, it's over.

At least Rodgers hasn't (yet) tossed an interception.. He's bein' a tad too cautious.. but part of that's the idiot coach too..

True.. I can't believe this game..
Posted By: Mako25 Re: NFL Sunday - 10/31/10
The Pack just had what must contend for the shortest series of downs in NFL history - when all they needed to do was kill the clock.

4:12 series begins

3:59 punt.

Yes thats 13 seconds.

unfortunatly...ziggy signed him a monster $ extention after last year.

Favre just got knocked cold - and has a wicked laceration on his face from the hit.

T. Jackson comes in and throws one pass for a TD, a second for the two-pointer, and has the Vikes down by 3.

No matter, the Pat's are movin' at will with time running out.

Nail in the coffin for the Vikes with todays loss.

I picked Oakland over Denver last week - larger upset.
Posted By: isaac Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10

Posted By: Teal Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
Oakland hung 59 POINTS - that's usually their season total.
Posted By: isaac Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
I have Pittsburgh tonight;how about you?
Posted By: Teal Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
Same - I think they might be the class of the NFL. NE's offense was nice but their D didn't impress me today against old yeller. No pass rush and with Loadholt on the field, you should get some. Yes they got some but a 41 year old QB with a "broken ankle" as we've been told shouldn't have had the time he did today.

While I'm surprised the Pack won today - on the other hand I'm not. Just something about them has always given me a "pretender" vibe. Offensively I don't think they can hang if their D isn't lights out. Not to make excuses or anything but the Packers shut them out in their OWN place, Jets on 2 weeks rest. We had guys playing that had never even been to Green Bay until Friday. They landed, did a walk thru and flew to NY and played.
Posted By: isaac Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
I also think the Steelers are the team to beat right now. Tonight's a big test for the Saints.

What I do and what I know about football is irrelevant, recognizing a shleprock and how to play that knowledge, much more valuable.
Posted By: isaac Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
You assume you recognize it but the reality isn't valuable,at all.

Pack/Jets game was strange and very entertaining all at the same time.. I never would have predicted a GB win there and especially with that kind of score.

Must be Halloween.. laugh laugh

Posted By: Teal Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
Redneck - you gotta go back to 47 or something where the Packers pitched a shut-out and won without an offensive TD. Of course it was against the Lions....
Posted By: Redneck Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
Doesn't surprise me... Weird game, this was...
Posted By: 2legit2quit Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
okay I'm confused.

I know the pack won, in an impressive D display, though they gave up some yardage

know NE won and Favre got knocked out

know Dallas got their azz handed to them...again

know the Chefs won in OT

know the Lions roared, (o thankee Les for giving them that pep talk)

what I don't know is: With the lions beatin the skinz is whether that makes Bob Les' bish or not?

there seems to be some confusion about it
Posted By: Teal Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
Caught the Mn/NE game in the bar on the way home.

Randy Moss turned to complain/gave up and would have had a TD for sure on that pass before Favre took it on the chin. He was tripped a little but took 2 steps at a slow trot with NO issue what so ever when the ball hit the turf all of 2.5 feet away. He should have caught that ball for 7.

Posted By: Mako25 Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
I had the game on a audio stream, as such didn't see the hit until this morning. Strange event, the lineman was in the middle of the field, but invisable, until he cleared a lamely attempted chip-block. Favre was a very short distance from the guy, so it's not like there was a lot of momentum, the lineman took 'bout three quick steps, and POW!, right in the kisser. Favre was out -- momentarily -- before he hit the ground.
Posted By: Mako25 Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
Tonight should be a good 'n', Indy looking for retribution for a manhandling the Texans put on 'em opening weekend in Houston.

Texans play no defense, but have a punishing O'line, and fullback. If the Texans can't control the clock, and keep Manning on the sideline, it'll get ugly.
Posted By: AkMtnHntr Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
The Colts can't stop the run, if Texas gets their running game going they will beat the Colts again and gain control of the AFC south. Only thing with Texas is they are like jekyl and hyde and you never know what team is going to show up.

NE continues to win yet they can get no respect, at 6-1 and the best record in the NFL, they deserve some credit for what they've done thus far but flying under the radar ain't a bad thing either.
Posted By: Mako25 Re: NFL Sunday - 11/01/10
Right now I think the three best teams in football are in the AFC; Ravens, Patriots, Steelers (in any order).

The NFC? ahhh, Giants?, Atlants? New Orleans showed up last night - but it's really been the first time.

The Texans do one thing consistantly - play lousy defense. They're a couple players away from being upper echelon. Their O' line, and run game is bruising, but at times they aren't consistant. The QB is good, but with only one marquee reciever, they really aren't a break-it-open kinda team either.

The Colts? Manning.

That man is unreal.

I would LOVE the Pats to claim him off waivers. They would then have gotten a 3rd round pick for Moss, and then got him back for nuttin'.

The Vikes just can't get away from the drama. grin
