Anybody know anything about the cameras with chips that can be tracked when they are stolen?

We had another nice ladder stand stolen and the neighbor has set up on our land and we want to set him up.
A tracking chip would also require either a cell phone or radio. Either way, while the technology is there, it's likely cost prohibitive.
Perhaps putting up another hidden camera might be cheaper?
First I was glad I never owned a game camera and now I'm glad I don't [bleep] around with stands either. So long as no one steals my legs I'm good to go.
There was a rash of stolen camera's and stands in a neighboring county (Adams) and a landowner had a camera with a GPS chip in it which he set out to be and was stolen. The Sheriff was able to track the camera to land that had stolen stands and cameras on it and illegal bait piles. I believe it may even be a felony for the guy they caught because of the dollar amount.
I am upset at losing the stand but the a##holes took down the survey markers all along the fenceline . They are real idiots who complain to everybody that they can't see any decent bucks yet fill a truck with 50lb deer every year.
Word is these cameras are about $600. Can anyone confirm this??
