by the end of the year. Good news to hear, ain't it?
Posted By: Anaconda Re: Troops are coming home - 10/22/11
What makes you think the troops are coming home ?
Posted By: Enrique Re: Troops are coming home - 10/22/11
If they do come home does that mean we don't have to raise taxes? Or does that mean they are coming home just to be sent to Africa?

Good news if we are keeping them home, bad news if Iran takes over in Iraq.

IF_IF_IF. That what ya deal with today going in without an exit plan.

No plan is worth a thing after the first shot is fired. Whether Iraq was a worthwhile war or not becomes moot if all the sacrifices of blood and treasure are thrown to the satanic wolves of Iran to appease political entanglements. I am as sure we will leave as I am Iran will rush in like a flood when we do. The death toll will be one sided and staggering and the world will blame, not Iran, but us.

Most likely that will happen. But it seems that Iraq would not allow a remaining force to have operating immunity. That is not acceptable.

edit: to clear up where the troops are coming home from.
Ah yes, Iran...the next boogeyman on the list.

Gotta keep that war machine churnin'.

Its always good news when troops can go home. Certainly 9 years is enough. If they can't do it by now.............
No immunity...........see ya later.
Hope they can stay home and we can unwind from some of these entanglements.

Whatever or whereever the next one is, let the undermining liberals and liberaltarians send they're kids; cause mine aren't leaving again.

About fookin' time we've wasted enough blood and treasure over there.

Would be even better so if the POS SOB in "office" wasn't using it as a political ploy.

If you are going to play( and that question should be SERIOUSLY considered prior) then you need to be committed for more than just a bit, but to complete the job the best you can.

I'd love to see em all home myself. I think they've done a stupendous job over there though too, and many folks are appreciative on both sides of the world for it.

Bummer we are not keeping the ALL the oil

Yes, Iran will continue to influence Iraq, possibly more aggressively. Will that change in 1, 5 or 10 years from now? The plan for some time has been to get them out at the end of the year. Nothing has changed.

How much oil did we get from the war for oil? Zero would be my belief. Wonder how much we burned? So we're negative. War's been very good for the oil producing countries. Maybe we should become one.
glad they're coming home.

hope they don't have to go back.

hope we do it differently if they do.

An understatement that borders on libel.

Something resulting in a sea of glass would be trendy.

Yup, and it's time the Iraqis take care of their business.
Posted By: RickyD Re: Troops are coming home - 10/22/11
I have no problem letting the Iraqi's take care of the Iraqi's, if they were as able to do so as they were before the war(s). If you don't think letting Iran have Iraq and it's oil wealth is a problem, you're not thinking. Because of the idiocy of the political polarization in the US, that we have greatly feared will come upon us.

WHEN troops have to go back, it needs to be without a leash. Without political policeman ROE.
Politics are being played with this withdraw and I hope it doesn't come back to bite this country in the tail, costing many more lives of our troops down the road.

Once the dragon was let out of his lair there was no putting him back in it.

And to this day the Neocons have prospered at the expense of the common man and liberty.

War is the ultimate hunt. As long as there are men there will always be wars.

Once we are done with Iraq we will look around for some place else to hunt.
