My wife and I seen a whitetail yesterday while riding in a combine cutting wheat yesterday that was about the same size. It seems a little late for a fawn to be born around here.
It is a great time of year to watch all the critters doing their thing. Watching all the little ones running, bucking and playing all over the place is always a good time.
That reminds me that I need to put some more "skeeter" spray in my truck.
Yes, a great season to be out. The wife and I did about 1.5 cords of western larch yesterday. We saw 3 pronghorn does with each trailing twins, 1 turkey, about 4 deer but no fawns visible, and a blond bear.
pretty cool Don. A couple of years ago a buddy of mine and I were slayin' pdogs when this doe antelope came wondering right through the town that we were shootin', and collected her kid and off they went. I then got to lookin' a little closer across the town and spotted 3 other fawns that were still laying amongst the prairie dog mounds. Who knows where thier mothers were at. The we decided to move a bit for some fresh action and we dang near drove over another fawn. Took pics. of it from the truck. We had the truck with-in about 15' of it, and it never flinched.
