My dog has heartworms. Trying to treat with vet by using heart guard and fish oil to avoid the arsenic treatment. My dog just woke me this AM coughing up blood. I am afraid we didn't start the treatment soon enough and she is too far gone. Help. My regular vet is closed and the local animal hospitals are too expensive for me until payday on Friday.

If she is too far gone the treatment may kill her as well. We got lucky with our Beagle Belle but she was a young dog at the time.
