How intense must your hatred be to deny the vets and the public access to a such a revered site? This is an unconscionable act!

With "WWII Veterans Honor Flights" planned they supposed blocked that memorial also.

Are they GONE from Office Yet . . .

I hope people begin to realize the absurdity of closing an open air memorial that is basically on a sidewalk. The big problem is I can see where the lefties figured there should never have BEEN a Vietnam memorial.....He is closing the ocean, scenic overlooks, not allowing stopping in Nat'l Parks. These acts are just ridiculous. I DID notice the big service academy football games managed to find funding, as well as O's golf course. Funny how that works. I am curious to see how my lib friends react to this. I guess they will just blame the right, and go along with it. Sure wish our side starts to fight, for a change.

Well I guess you know now why there was such a big ammunition buy-up by your Government.

Best of luck.
WHAT KIND OF COP enforces that??

To KNOW in your heart that what you are doing is against all principals, yet you do it anyway???

Why haven't all the cops called in sick for this???

Same question was probably mooted in the late thirties in Europe.
If this keeps up someone is going to get hurt. It is interesting that you can get law enforcement and NPS employees to follow orders when they have to know its wrong.

As I said in another thread, no dictator or repressive regime has ever lacked for police to suppress the Citizens.

This. No surprises here. History repeats itself because human nature remains unchanged since the time of the Roman Emperors and their security apparatuses.

Haven't meet or heard of a cop that would do anything on principle let alone walk away from his taxpayer supported job. The few I know only bitch about it but go along till they get that big welfare package in the end.

Shouldn't the anger be directed at the Congress who shut down the government and the sites; not at the National Park Service?

The lack of funding dictates that the sites be closed.

This should be good...where the heck IS that popcorn icon!
+1
One would think that civil disobedience would be the order of the day in such scenarios. I would love to explain to a jury of my peers how I was arrested for peacefully honoring vets at a veterans memorial site.

At least as far as the Vietnam Memorial is concerned, it is nothing more than a wall by a sidewalk. I can't imagine keeping it open without funding for a while would do it any harm. Granite is pretty tough stuff.

Tell Wiesenthal he should have not went after all those guards and policemen.

By his obedience to his criminal leaders he augmented the guilt which he had incurred by putting himself politically and unconditionally at their disposal.

Oh, you mean the Congress that passed a bill to find these parks? That Congress?

Let me guess, you too are a .gov employee???

There will be more money spent policing these sites than would ever been spent in their daily operations.

The boat ramps on places like Mark Twain Lake have been closed. Absolutely unmanned inanimate objects.
Long-term, they do require maintenance - resurfacing, sign painting, things like that.

Pure political stunt.

We can actually get along prettyy good in most things w/o Uncle Sugar holding our hands.
... and yes, our anger should be directed first and foremost at the elected officials.

If the powers that be decide to fire upon these or the WW-II vets the beginning of the AR-II and a great cleansing of the beltway will begin.

GO VETS!!!!!!!!!!

Unless you're one of the "guvment gonna take care me" Obama voters you'd realize that most of us "stand on our own hind feet" kinda guys would probably pick up after your helpless self until the morons in DC get their act together.

Reminds me of a lesson I taught two stepsons and a son. Anytime we use a public access place in the outdoors we leave it in a cleaner state than we found it. I bet that concept is completely lost and alien to a "guvment gonna take care o me" libtard.
EASY FIX. TAKE THE TRASH CAN AWAY, REPLACE IT WITH A SIGN THAT SAYS PACK [bleep] IN PACK [bleep] OUT. THERE GOT THAT FIXED!

Take care, Willie
All I know is if we had a commander in chief that had served in the military, then these Veteran Memorials wouldn't be closed, and that closure enforced....

instead what we have is a community organizer... also known as an academia trained communist.....sitting in our white house...

Congress and the Senate had any backbone or balls they would start immediate impeachment proceedings on this assshole for over stepping the powers given to him by the Constitution.

and plenty of the Democratic Party's Leadership need to be impeached right along with him..... Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barb Boxer, Chuck Shumer, et al...

This nation needs a large tar and feather party inside the beltway...

This is the lowest point of any political leaders in my lifetime......

Now you know how they will act when told to take our guns. Shades of Hitler, "we were only following orders."

there are plenty that wont but there are always enough people that are more interested in power than principles to get the job done.....i know if there was something like that locally our officers wouldnt bother but the police chief and sheriff are vets and they have enough chit on their plate they aint gonna keep people off a sidewalk.....fortunately when yah move to smaller towns you can often find a higher portion of good guys....unfortunately when the chit hits the fan there are enough people waiting in the wings that want even a tiny amount of perceived power that with enough force from above the good ones can get pushed out frown

+1 also but maybe not unfortunate; it is time or we lose it all. Like someone else said, why do you think .gov bought all that ammo? Those arrogant communists are probably hoping something will start so they can use the police/military to slam dunk us. Boy will they be surprised.

Maybe this will help, ought to send a message eh?
And then there is this too, should make for an interesting weekend coming up in DC.

You bet, and in the big picture, don't ever take your eyes off Germany.

Gunner
.gov has the standing military army, their own army of lawyers to create the rule book (against us), and another army of enforcement. It is as nothing for them to push vets around. Hardly a muscle twitch.

Yeah, like criminals follow "NO GUNS ALLOWED" signage. It never ceases to amaze me how people come to enjoy the outdoors, and don't think twice about screwing it up.

Shutting the Viet Nam Memorial, is a particularly egregious act. There is no normal participation needed by any National Park employee. It's an open area, for goodness sake.
Petty, mean spirited, and spiteful. We have an enormous disconnect between this administration and the Citizens.

yes, and no

Our anger should be directed at dhimmicrats, and the current administration. No GOP house member, or Senator, has voted to close any site.
We tend to forget, that the LOSER of the Presidential election has NO SAY IN WHAT HAPPENS WITHIN THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS ADMINISTERED BY THE WHITE HOUSE.
All of these spiteful, staged events is directly caused by king hussein.

Were the 'government shutdown' a reality, then the president's golf course would be closed, and illegal Mexicans would not be allowed to march and rally on the National Mall.

Having seen every memorial and monument along the mall at least 100 times, I am in full agreement. Every single one of them should remain open.

Travis
100 times? I digress but what gives there? Used to live in the hell hole? Thats an impressive number of visits. Not a negative post, just OT and curious.

We've seen it once and while very impressive I've no use to ever go back anywhere close to DC

Why do you assume they know it's wrong and why do you assume they care? I believe they don't care or consider what is wrong. They do what they are told, and for many, the more imposing and belligerent they have to be to enforce orders, the more they get a warm tingle up their leg.

We are no longer comprised of us, but us and them. One of those will have to submit, or be submitted, to the other, and that will likely be bloody.
