There is no easy way or good way to say this, so I'll just say it.
Qtip of this Board, aka Chipmunk in high school because of his red hair, aka Bruce Edward Clegg in real life, of Hartwick NY passed on to a better place this afternoon at 4pm due to complications with his lungs encountered during a gall bladder operation. He was 63 years old, WAY to young to go.
He was a Deputy Sheriff for Otsego County for 27 years before retiring in 2007.
He is survived by his wife, they had no children.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete but his wife feels after planning it over this weekend with Bruce's 2 brothers it will be a one day service sometime next weekend. When arrangements are complete, I will post and let you know.
Dang just dang............prayers for his family.
Rest in Peace QTip. Bruce Clegg. A good man.
Damn - just sucks. I always like him and his posts. RIP.

Ugh...
This is so not what I wanted to hear.
He was one of the good ones...
Peace be with you
Garry,
We are diminished by his passing, but blessed to have had him share his life with us here.
I find solace in knowing that I will get to meet him on the other side.
You and his wife have my condolences.
My prayers continue for you, her and the rest of his family as they grieve his passing.
Ed
Godspeed Qtip.
I enjoyed you here on the fire. Thank you.
wink man;
Thank you for what is no doubt a difficult update to give us sir.
Please extend sincere condolences to those left behind. My thoughts and prayers are with them all.

May the Lord rest his soul.
Prayers offered up for his wife, family and friends.
RIP Qtip, I always enjoyed his posts; it was clear he was a good man.
Prayers sent from here that the Lord comfort his family and friends in this difficult time.
I'm sure from reading his posts that he was sure enough born again and will dwell with God throughout all eternity.
Prayers for his Mrs.
He knew the Lord and today and forever lives in His presence. Qtip fought the good fight and has his most excellent reward. Now we mourn, but only now does he know true joy. Though the earth is diminished, Heaven is enriched with another of God's children returned.
I will pray for peace for his family. He will be greatly missed.
He was a good man who added balance to this crazy world.
My every thought is with his wife now.
R.I.P Qtip
I really hate to hear this. Too young to go but I am happy to know where he is and know that some day I will get to meet him. Prayers for peace to his wife, family, and friends.
R.I.P. Q-tip.
The world is lessened by your passing.
Damn -
Prayers for the family and let us all be reminded that life is so very short -
My condolences to his friends and family.
Q-tip
Vaya con Dios, we'll miss you.
Condolences to those he leaves behind.
Greg
Damn it! I didn't know Q Tip, but I am sure getting down about how many good folks on this forum are being lost among us... for health reasons...
A retired LEO.... but 63 years old... too darn young.... a salute of respect for his service to his community for 27 years...
Condolences to his wife and family during this difficult period..
May the Good Lord be with them thru this difficult time...
We all have a beginning and we all have an end... and we have no control over when either will occur... all we have control of is everything between those two points... I sure hope Bruce had the opportunity to maximize his for all the enjoyment and rewards that life has to offer...
His family, his community and our campfire is diminished with the passing of another one of our numbers....
His family is in my prayers as well as the good health and welfare of ALL of our campfire members and their families...
Peace and Good health be with each of us...
RIP Q/Tip... you'll be missed sir! Thanks for what you have given us via the Campfire...
So sorry to hear of his passing. The Campfire has lost a good friend. I now he is in a better place but he will be missed.
Prayers sent for his family.
Wow, this is like a kick in the gut to me tonight.
But, I shall see him in person in the not too distant future. This life is very, very short compared to the eternity that awaits us all right after. His faith in Christ was displayed openly, and Jesus promised that if we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that he is the Christ and is risen, we WILL or SHALL be saved! Not 'probably will' or "If we add in enough good works" etc. SHALL, end of the question. Gods word also promises that if we are bold about knowing him here on earth and not ashamed, he will also be bold about our belonging to HIM, and also not ashamed, before the Father on judgement day. Just a brief review of Q Tips posts and messages will make it clear to all of us that he is now in VERY GOOD, albeit nail pierced, hands.
When so many of you here, including Q Tip, were praying for me 26 months ago, I also was suffering from a heart attack and developed MRSA right after and as young, and big and strong as I thought I was, I came to within a hairs breadth of cashing in myself that time. And to tell you the honest truth, I was SO very sick, weak and miserable, passing away would have seemed like a right fine idea for a couple of days. I knew a little about what Q Tip was going through, and it reminded me to pray more often than I usually do for these kinds of requests.
God himself has now wiped away every tear from his eye, and he will never feel pain or loss ever again. Praise the LORD for this truth!
I will also be praying for his wife and family with the rest of you, and I miss him here already.
See ya soon, buddy!
I hate to hear of his passing on. He was a good Christian man and I have no doubt God was waiting for him so He could welcome him into the Kingdom. RIP Qtip. You will be sorely missed. I will be praying for his wife and loved ones.
Jim
RIP QTip.
Prayers for his Wife and family.
Heckuva way to start a Saturday morning.
What a shame to know that there will be yet another empty tree stand on some windswept ridge this fall. We were a better man with his presence, and are lessened by his loss. God had bigger plans for him, and now he has gone on to a far better place. Lifting a glass here in remembrance of a good man. Gone but not forgotten.
Rest In Peace, Q-Tip.
Another empty log at the fire tonight.........and the glow is dimmer for it.
I resemble this remark.....
RIP Bruce.

The Lord blessed Qtip with a loving family and friends, the Lord loved him even unto death and now to beyond, and there is nothing more to ask for in this life.
I will pray for his Family and Friends....
Once upon a time a member of this forum told me that if you have no met someone in person, you could not care for, or love them, as you do family.
If that be true, then why with the news of the passing of Qtip does my heart hurt and my eyes fill with tears ?
Prayers said for the family and friends.
63 is way to young to be leaving.
Rest in Peace, Qtip.
Thoughts and prayers from Iowa. He certainly seemed a decent person.
Sad news for earth and its inhabitants, but rich news for our brother Qtip.
Shared many thoughts and verses with him both on the fire and in PMs. He will be missed.

I am deeply saddened to hear of this. I really admired Qtip and his beliefs. Rest in peace my brother. We will truly miss you around the fire.
Can we get a memorial sticky for those that have passed on? A few come to mind; Clay, Malm, Qtip.......
Edit: I PM'd Rick about this.

Miss Lynn ,my answer to your question is this and this is my opinion only, when we post we put a bit of ourselves out there as others read and take it in we form opinions thoughts etc of that individual ,so while maybe not actually meeting them in person we have met them through their words ,maybe a picture here or there so we begin to develop a bond or friendship therefore our feelings of loss of one of our online friends burdens our hearts ,no more words from our friend .rest in eternal peace Qtip you will be sorely missed

This is a good idea, and I think something that Rick should pay attention to.
As outdoor/hunting/fishing sites go, this one is at the top of the list and composed of great people for the most part as far as I am concerned.
There are sites similar to 24 Hour Campfire that are of much lower caliber than this site, that have a forum dedicated to members no longer with them titled such as 'In Remembrance', 'Gone but not Forgotten', etc.
Condolences and prayers from my house for QTip and his family.
hate to hear that, prayers for his family and friends.
Damn, RIP Qtip.
First eddybo now Qtip, this crap is getting old.
Tough deal.
Condolences to Mrs. Clegg.
RIP Qtip
I am so sorry! Qtip was always one of the good guys. Prayers and condolences for him and his family. I am looking forward to meeting him in person when I pass on.

News like this makes one pause and realize yet again that our time here in finite. Make the most of it. I pray he has found peace and that his family can find peace in due time.
I really hate these kinds of posts. Qtip was a solid member here or as long as I can remember and the loss to the Campfire is great. Rest In Peace Qtip. And I'll pray for his family.
I've been out of town just now caught this bit of sad news.My sincere condolences to his family as we are certainly diminished by more than just his passing..
I just saw this post too.
I have seen Qtip talking about Jesus on this forum so I know he has went to be in a better place.
He is now Welcomed into Heaven by his Savior saying "Well done thy good and faithful servant!"
Prayers sent to his family for their lost.
Just saw this now.. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. Condolences offered to his many friends and family.. RIP sir..
