Wow, Ray Ban sunglasses have gone up in price.

My original polarized mirror brown ones are a bit too beat up.
Costco has some decent shades at good prices.

Ray Ban, Maui Jim's, Serengeti, .......
Spot, you are right about that (price). Also, since that French outfit bought out Ray-Ban and several other high-end sunglass lines, quality has suffered and c/s is terrible. $90 just to send a pair in. If you live near a military base, have, or have a friend with exchange priviliges, they are a great place to get good aviators. I have a friend in the 1/60th spec. ops. aviation at Hunter AAF in Savannah and can usually get 2 or 3 pair for what Ray-Bans had been costing.
Ebay has many vintage 1980's style in mint or near mint condition for 70-80. I didnt look through all of them, but you could likely beat that price used.

IME the photochromatic Serenghetti lenses tend to be lighter, even in full sun when they change.

The maui jims are pricey but very nice glass and tend to be light.

I have a set of Revo's from 1993 that are heavy, but the best lens available at the time.
Might check Sierra Trading Post. Never know what they'll have,
I got a couple pairs of Randolph Aviators there last fall for
under $70 a pair. I know they carry Serengeti.
Check at Optics Planet,

They sometimes have good deals on good sun glasses......
Definetly check out Costco..ours has ray-ban, Maui Jim, Serengeti..without the hellacious markup most places seem to apply
Goodwill, Salvation Army..
One thing about Costco, I dont believe they carry the best glass lenses that the brands offer.

Still, usually good stuff for the price.

Sierra Trading Post is a great suggestion as well. That website can empty a wallet in a hurry! Lots of chit for absolute steals! Just a matter if they have whatever it is in your size.

can't think of anything that hasn't gone up in price, but if you're looking for sunglasses, Hidalgo's is where I've bought mine my entire life. Great customer service and just about anything is possible. They might even be able to evaluate and repair your old ones.
