Can some one tell me why the little envelope is blinking in the upper center of the screen? I tried several things to get it to stop.

Click on "My Stuff"
Then click on messages in the drop down box.

Mines been flashing since day 1. Sent emails to admin... Still flashing.

PM me for the address to send a case of crown royal.

Maybe I should clarify-

Its a free site, I'm not going to complain about anything, I've become used to it.

I've checked and updated all areas and my still blinks. Give up.

If that doesn't work, shut down the browser and computer and restart. Sometimes that will clean up preferences. it does on Apple Macs, which in my view are well worth having in terms of the lack of aggravation.

If that still doesn't work, ask a local teenager.

If all else fails, accept that some people aren't meant to use computers.

Seriously? If you evr buy Sod, remember it's green side up...

If you were as perspicacious as you think you are, you'd have noticed the dozens of posts from new members stating their PM notice flashes even though there's no message, and nothing they try stops it from flashing. It's not a matter of them not knowing what it means, they're simply asking sages like yourself how to make it stop.

Going to have to look up all those words in addition to being more observant of our members tribulations with flashing envelopes. That Stack Overflow issue is also bugger...Oh and I have no idea how to stop it. My VCR's still flashing..

I suggest getting some blue electrical tape, and sticking it over the envelope....problem solved.

Have you tried actually opening the message? That stops the blinker for me.

Didn't work for me. I even sent myself a PM.

I wasn't complaining, just curious what it was. I thought some kind of mail, but I tried everything and still blinks.

It will always and forever blink. I just ignore it until somebody posts a message that I should check my PM inbox.
