When we bought our house in 2001, my wife loved everything about it except the kitchen. Too small, she said. After saving for a few years, we have enough to build the kitchen she wants, but the deal is that we continue to save at the same rate for my 6 car garage I've been wanting for a while too smile.

Three weeks into the kitchen project, which also turned into a deck replacement. The Trex deck we had didn't come up too well for the addition, and we decided to go back with #1 pressure treated pine.

Still a good 6 to 8 weeks to go, and I'm missing good home cooked food already.

Nope. I'm paying. Oh, I'm paying crazy

I have neither the time, nor the energy anymore for a project this size. 60-75 hours a week running my business doesn't leave a whole lot of time to get it done, especially since hunting season isn't too far off. 😃

All new appliances, 79 square feet of granite, new bigger central air. The list goes on. I'm actually looking forward to it being done, though.

keith, I'm officialy out of the bidness now. Unless I get fired....grin

Badger, is it one guy doing everything?
Posted By: badger Re: I cut a deal..... - 07/28/14
One guy is doing the construction and the deck. We shopped the cabinetmaker, the HVAC installer, the flooring guys and the granite. All separate installers. Wifey also found another carpenter that specializes in wood countertops for the island, hard maple with live edges.

With all those subs, what the hell's up with the 6-8 MORE weeks? They only work an hour a day?
Posted By: badger Re: I cut a deal..... - 07/28/14
Cabinets will be the hold up. This guy has a backlog.

My total living space is about the size of Badger's new kitchen. smile

Wife was visiting a neighbor, who just had a total kitchen rebuild. Now my wife does not cook, and has no idea where anything is in our current kitchen, but she has the bug now, to have ours redone.

Sigh. Hey, it's only money, right?

Nice looking addition, I lucked out, our house has a big enough kitchen and we added 2 16x26 garages(one tuck under) to supplement the 2 car already here.
