10 days ago my sweetheart requested a camping trip
So we loaded the camping stuff and found a spot at 10,000 ft. and stayed for 5 days.
Long views, free grass, cool temps and a small patch of Morels.



It was 95 down in the low country, 72 at camp.
Random? no, but enjoy anyway.
Happy dogs, happy ponies, Happy wife... Win Win Win

First camping trip of the year. It was mid-May and there was still snow piled up in the shaded drifts, so we made the best of it.

Chunk of wood my wife asked me to carve for her. It was used to display some of the home made cupcakes she supplied for her nephew's wedding reception.


Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. That's the inside of my truck windshield. The 'skeeters have been so bad here that if you leave your window down even a little bit, you'll be swatting 'skeeters all the way to work and back.

I'm on a quest this summer to catch a 10" or better bluegill. Last evening I got out and gave it another try, even though the weather was not exactly agreeable. (Best 'gill last night was 9 1/2". Close, but not close enough)

I don't lose to sheet metal cars much, but this guy runs in the pro class (I am in Sportsmans/beginners class/street legal stuff) and he beat my butt and good. I am hoping to make some changes to flip that around on him soon



Beautiful '57 Chevy with a supercharged big block and slicks. I was ecstatic when I beat him to the pylons, but here HE is grinning because I broke out of my dial in speed by .004 seconds! Still, a great race and loads of fun. Grreat sportsmen there, too. I hope I draw him to race again someday.

When it gets too hot to fish..... SWIM! (But good trout water is damned cold! All the time up here!)

Sometimes the view can be just downright spectacular. Views like this, and right after, are one of the big draws for me when planning a camping trip

The boat is a 50's era Feather brand. Had the wheel removed and use it with tiller outboard now. Works well for 3 or 4 people to fish at a time. I wouldn't want to portage that thing in, that's for sure.
