They couldn't conquer the Scots, so they just walled them out.
The maps mentioned the spread of the Christian Gospel, but really didn't elaborate on how missionary forays like that of St. Paul an others simply could never have occurred without the Pax Romana.

True. Without safe roads to travel, the Gospel couldn't have spread very far.
