Try to get things done, this is what you get.

Names changed to protect the inept, but it happened to the guy down the hall.

Todd,
this subdivision project is in Citys ETJ, therefore state DOT will provide speed limit information for the subject project. Contact Doug with State DOT and he should be able to help you.

The project is in my area but I have experienced minimal activity on it.

At this point I will not have any involvement with the project as (1) I shall be retiring in NINE days and (2) the area now falls under the responsibility of Britnee with State Department of Transportation. Please forward her the plans you mentioned as the reply function does not forward attachments to original e-mails.

Todd,
Since these are not state maintained streets youll need to contact the City. NCDOT would not be responsible for providing signs. I am ccing Rick at the City Department of Transportation for your convenience.

I've had more than a few of those. I've literally had them go 100 deep and end up coming back to me with the question that I asked 100 emails ago.

Government's only efficiency is in inefficiency, and government's only competency is in incompetency.
You should try to get a textbook order through the NC University systems book stores.

E-mail exchanges like this can go on for a week or more.

Sounds like something High Point or Guilford County would do..........

Sounds like all Departments need more staff.

The Queen City,

But I have a lot of experience with the two you mentioned.

And gray hair to prove it.

In your state, if there are no speed limit signs along the road, is there a default speed limit?

Most municipalities will indicate "Speed Limit X unless otherwise posted"

I think the state back road default is 55mph, with short sprints to 105 if grinners are in the road.
there are reasons why all Citizens hate their own governments. laugh

Certainly since I'm in .gov.. in a tiny scale... I'd answer the same, if its not in my area, I CAN"T answer it and stand a TON of liability if I did.

But its funny that it comes back to the original person in a way.

Not all that uncommon though. If it finds its way back to me, I simply go to my superiors and say, here it is, its not supposed to be ours, and I'm not answering it on that basis. Y'all and the attorney figure it out.
