The snake was a baby Python, the island staff were afraid to grab, so I walked up grabbed its tail and snatched it out of the tree, and proceeded to enlighten/scare a bunch of international students with it.
I was in Southern Mindanao, in the Davao City area. Nice place, Moro are more northern part of Mindanao.
Watch out for the stingrays Les. If I was one of the people you harassed with the snake, I'd be looking for a great big tarantula for you. I feel the same about snakes as you do spiders!
Are you sure you didn't come back with anything else? About half the expats that work for me own a place in PI and about half of them are married to one. The other half do the same in Thailand.
Dad is doing great Woody, he has all his wood done for the winter and wants to spend this fall hunting. Me, I am doing pretty good. How are you and your family?
We are all good except for Mom but have a new grandson to spoil since I saw you last.BTW do you remember your old addy here was it on Ave. A or possible B ? Thought I'd take a pic of the house for you as I probably go by it everyday..

it was the main street right thru town, I could walk straight to the Bridge over the Platte from my house. Hope that helps.
Sam, the hot sauce made it, and it was a hit on the hot wings, now over in the PI, I found these wonderful little bitty peppers called sili's....Them things are AWESOME, I did make a small mistake with them the first time I made some salsa with them though.
I had chopped up a fair sized handful of them and mixed them in with some garlic, onion and fresh chopped tomato. Well, I made the mistake of rinsing my hands off,(notice the term rinse, it is much different than wash)Well, I carried the salsa out to the girls with some tortilla's, and decided I had to go take a leak. I went inside and did my business, rinse my hands again(theres that damned word rinse again)so I go out, grab my glass of scotch, and no sooner than I sat down, I noticed my nether regions were getting kind of warm, about 30 seconds later it went from warm to WTF poured hot lava down the front of my shorts. Eula and her girlfriends all realized what was happening and started laughing their damned heads off. I told them they don't stop laughing I was gonna pull it out and tell them to blow on it, I made it about another 30 seconds before I ran for the shower.... Lesson Learned, them little bastids is HOT, I mean Habanero hot, I will from here on out, WASH, RINSE, REPEAT, WASH, RINSE and REPEAT..
well 'Steve Irwin' you werent holding a python, its a venomous snake, rear-fanged and likely mildly venomous but im bout 99% sure not a python unless you found either a new species or thats the weirdest coloration of retic ive ever seen as they are the only known python in the PI's.....not sure which species but its a Boiga of some sort im pretty sure....most are pretty harmless but a hell of alot have no study done on their venom
no boas over there....what the locals call it dont matter....the fangs would have been a slightly bigger tooth back past the eyes in the mouth....while im not up on all Asian snakes ild put $20 on it being a Boiga of some sort....lots of them are easy to handle, some are nasty...
Can't their training cycle drives our leave time. I lose a fair amount of money when I go on leave, enough that it hurts. Especially if I go to the states for more than 14 days. I go more than 18 my paycheck becomes taxable. That's in a calendar year.
