Several members, some of them very dear friends have asked how I am these days. One member whom I adore sent me a PM today that read "Doing better I presume. :)"

I will share my reply to him, and update you all at the same time smile

My reply:

As long as I take an Ativan every time I turn around yes. I have stress induced hypertension, which is different than my normal hypertension, apparently it is a nervous breakdown from shouldering and dealing with so many people's problems and my own for way too long. In other words I am going stark raving mad ! Madder then I was before !

Truth is my Doctor is worried about me and has me seeing a Stress Management Specialist, and a Doctor who deals specifically with Stress Induced Hypertension. I am practicing yoga and will be exploring Tai Chi. But first, before the Tai Chi, I am getting away from it all, several weeks in a small cottage on the banks of a river, in a small town, in my favorite place in the world smile

Thank you to everyone for your prayers, your good wishes and good thoughts, the PM's and texts, they were gratefully received, and will be forever cherished smile

+1, enjoy the solitude.

Well I'd been wondering, but didn't want to bother you.
Take care of yourself and enjoy some R&R!

Relax and enjoy yourself, dear lady. Take the time to "defrag" grin

Good to hear Lynn. Just watch those Ativans. Them and Xanax can give you some highs and lows. If you feel the rollercoaster comin, call the doc and ask about Klonopin. Lasts much longer.

I have a script of it comin. This Xanax for my health anxiety when the vagus nerve kicks in, WOO HOO! Great stuff(Ativan made me sleepy) but as quick as it acts it starts fading away. 3-4 hours at most. Doc says Klonopin is good all day. Something to look at.

Lynn...

I'm pleased to read you apparently have this thing "cornered" and are making headway on "THE" cure. grin

Stress is something to NOT have although most of us have stress in our lives because it's really difficult to avoid.

However, self-induced stress is really difficult to deal with... I.E., you're "doing it" to yourself even if you don't wanna (been there, done that)... and that's a "tough one" to beat, but you hang in there Girl... it sounds like your "hittin' " on ALL "cylinders"... SOOOOO take ALL of our "hopes, prayers & good thoughts" with you and "know" that we truly CARE !~!~!

Vaya con Dios...

Hope all works out for you.

I've done Tai Chi for a while and it does help. Zen also helps if you can find a good teacher. Zen helped me quite a bit. The hardest thing for me to learn was that "it happens" and there was nothing I could do about it.

We Westerns tend to think we can control everything especially if we just pray more or some such. Tao and Zen master are way ahead of the curve on this and just accept that crap happens and just move on.

Good luck.

pahick,

I am, I promise. They were stopping me from functioning right, they last forever in my system, I was advised one every 6 to 8 hours, but I just can't, I tried, but I can't.

So, one at bedtime, exercise and breathing exercises in the daytime, more time spent in the outdoors, as little contact as possible with stressful people and situations, and less time lending my shoulder for others to cry on. All this and spending time writing a tell all book about a cast of crazy characters on a certain internet forum, are helping immensely grin

Lynn, when each and all of us leaves the face of this ole earth, those same problems will still be here. Enjoy what is left of life.

Thoughts are with you.

Sounds like you have a good plan! Enjoy the downtime, and as they say, "stop and smell the roses". Feel better soon.

Listen to the river as it flows by. It will tell you much.

Enjoy your time away. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

It always has, from day one, and I believe it always will.

Spooky how you know....

Continued prayers Lady Lynn.

Time you started adapting the T LEE approach, don't suffer fools and BELIEVE the Serenity Prayer.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

OH and the rest:

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Was wondering how you were. Glad your back.

I hope that you can find a happy place with your worries.
It has taken about 25 years to get over worrying about things that I CAN NOT CHANGE.
That does not mean that i do bot think about them,it just does not take over my day.

My Mother-in-Law worries about having nothing to worry about.
She is 84 and has slowed some in the last 5 or so years.But every now and then it takes over.

PEACE

Miss Lynn, I'm going with you but to a different place. Thursday morning I will point my old Alaskan camper south to first wander thru Wyoming, then Colorado , and then head on either to New Mexico or turn east to Kansas and then north east Oklahoma. I have never experienced stress problems and outside of a couple of bouts with cancer have been very healthy. Thank God for that.

I certainly wish you were healthy so you could enjoy your trip as much as I am planning on enjoying mine. The only restriction for me is that I have to be back here by the 26th and that HAS to be. Enjoy your rest and come back healthy.

My friend Miss Lynn
I still pray for you and your family.
Your health sounds like mine. Well I use to have. This was hard for me to learn, " let it go". I still care greatly for some of my family members, I realized there are some people I can't change or their way of life.
I'm no longer a bank. I don't let other peoples mistakes weigh me down. My family knows I care about all of them. I just started putting myself closer to the top of the line.
Blessings to you and yours. Wishing you much happiness.
Take care, Randy
