Read one story that said the two airlines had a total of 27 aircraft combined, and another from the BBC saying that 90% of the aircraft had been destroyed by rockets.

Specific planes are easy to hide, either in a hangar, or plane sight. Satellites look down, registration number not visible from that perspective. Then there is a modern invention called paint.
