Law school? You have to go to law school?

That's the rumor. There were a bunch of people I saw in Monterey going to some little law school there that wasn't accredited or some such thing.

Gave you the bills and homework without any of the benefits.

Not in all states, I've heard.

Reading for the law, right? I don't know if Va still permits it. I do remember a woman from Fairfax who actually did read for the bar and passed. She's the only one I've ever known to have accomplished it. I'd rather go to law school than be some lawyer mentor's slave for 5 years.

Why would you suppose that Jesus didn't trust lawyers?

I trust Jesus.

that is just the upfront cost. What about the contract you had to sign to be able to buy it?

Your handshake would be enough for me, Sam.

True shirt.

Of course, the problems mentioned were probably created by other lawyers, in the legislature...

Lawyers' most dominant concern is lack of oversight. Darn near every day lawyers are arrested, and it seems most are good for crimes of moral turpitude and worse.

Exacerbating lawyers dismal public acceptance is their penchant for rationalizing bad behavior in what, when analyzed, is nothing more than BS that's disguised to resemble reason and logic. It's as though law schools teach budding legal practitioners how sling BS with English that dupes the naive in to believing it's intellectually sound. Stare decisis is one such intellectually weak BS scam of lawyers. Some moron rationalizes BS & other lawyers worship it as though it's gospel. Apparently these shysters, er, I mean lawyers never heard of erroneously conclusions derived from erroneous premises.

A woman I know used to be married to a top tier law school million-dollar-a-year lawyer. He used to routinely tell her that all lawyers lie, which was not revealing. So much for ethics...

He was either lying, which made his statement true. Or he was being truthful, which made his statement a lie.

Hard to believe. smile

Most of the "lying" that lawyers do is done to other lawyers for their client's benefit.

Ask any client, "Do you want an honest lawyer or one who will get you the result you want." Clients are such hypocrites. smile

My late uncle was a patent attorney for Big Blue for many years. He passed the NY bar *before* attending law school.
