Jason, a 35 year old Rutland County (VT) Deputy Sheriff, lost his battle with Cancer late Saturday Evening / Early Sunday Morning. Pam lost her husband (Bobby) and Jason lost his father, in similar fashion, about 16 years ago. Bobby was also a LEO. Jason, after graduating Sienna College in NY, followed in his dad's footsteps in police work, becoming a Deputy in the Rutland County Sheriff's Dept. Jason was hugely popular with the general public, as he brought a great attitude and work ethic to his job. Rutland County Sheriff, Steve Benard, said at a recent fund raiser for Jason, "many folks that Jason stopped, would call him and thank him for bringing that degree of professionalism to his department". That's the kind of person Jason was. My wife and Pam have worked together for years, and we're not sure just how much this girl can endure. Jason was her pride & joy.
