A pop tart is a weapon but a knife ain't

AUBURN, Washington (USA) (October 24, 2014)An Auburn School District official said Thursday that students and staff of the Sikh faith are permitted to wear Kirpan (sword).

Assistant Superintendent Ryan Foster reiterated the policy after KING-TV reported about one boy being allowed to wear the small Kirpan at Gildo Ray Elementary.

Foster told that a long-standing district policy allows the Kirpans to be worn under the clothing of observant Sikhs.

It cant create a disruption of the learning environment, Foster said.

The kirpan is considered an instrument of social justice in the Sikh religion, and is one of five articles of faith worn by observant Sikhs. The blades are typically dull and range from 3 to 9 inches long, according to the New York-based Sikh Coalition.

Actually, I've seen similar article regarding the kirpan's in the past.

I think it's time I created a new religion.

Rule 1. The Prophet declares all observant members shall carry a loaded firearm at all times.

Dull or not I could do plenty of damage with a 3-9 inch blade.

That's it. I'm sending the boy to school with a turbin and a KaBar

Which powder manufacturer to we pay homage to? I can see the potential for some sect-strife here....

Thou shall seek harmony with thy rifle and thy wife. Where these are the most fickle of all things in creation, you must exercise prudence and patience in discovering what to feed either.

Christenings are at the Chapel, also known as the Gun Range. You will be sprinkled with gun powder, and must step off a pound of Tannerite.

This. And it can't create a disturbance, because it can be worn under cover garments.

A Nazarene predicted this would happen.

Every Monday morning at 09:00 at a coffee shop in Eagle River. AK, "Bible study" is held and, once caffeine levels are high enough, the firearms activities begin. Weather permitting, the range at Birch wood gets a workout. If the weather is too crappy, then tours of all of the local gun shops is in order. This has been going on for years. grin

Yup. It's right out there for everyone to see. Yet they won't.
Been goin' on here for years too. When I took on the Pastoral vestments for a new division of this far flung and robust faith in December 2004, I wrote this for all of my dear congregation.

A Shooters
Prayer

May Your Eyes Be Clear And Sharp.
May The Light Reflected Off Your Front Sights Be A Warm And Welcome Glow.
May The X Ring Be Clear And Centered In The Aperature.
May Your Position And A Steady Hold Be Effortless And Strong.
May Your Mind Be A Deep, Calm Pool At The Instant You Break Your Shot.
May Your Triggers Always Maintain Their Adjustment.
May Gentle Warm Zephyrs Of Breeze Pass In Awe At The Precision Of Your Savvy Corrections.
May You Go To The Firing Line With Confidence And Remove Your Equipment In Satisfaction.
May You Be Blessed With The Respect And Approbation Of Your Fellow Competitors.
May You Rest Well, Knowing That The Heritage And Legacies Of Shooting Sport Will Be There For Those Just Starting Out.

And May Your Rifle Bore Never Show Rust, and Throw Unexplained Flyers!

Shoot Well and Shoot Often,

Merry Christmas

Greg (Crossfire)

In much of this country you don't have to be a Christian to be persecuted.....just a gun owner.
We Christian gun owners get the "double whammy"
