I did. Tagged out opening day on this fellow. Best part is my boy was right with me the whole time. Was considerable smaller up close than he was in the scope.

Nice! I'd take it...
That's the 600 in .22-250AI, correct? And is that a Bushnell 10x elite?
Unfortunately, I only got about four days BG hunting in this year. Open hunts with limited time and too many other hunters....suck!
I think I'm done with open hunts for rifle. I'll keep putting in for draws and take 'em if I can get them. Working construction is the absolute schit's when it comes to hunting season. We are normally just blitzed come October/November.
All of which is why I ordered a bow today! I am now AI'd.
Ace....Improved.
I'm gonna shoot 101 arrows a day, get me some tattoos and find that Ginger girl...
That sucks dude. Orange is the last color I like to see in my glass, but hell at least you got some time in the woods eh?
What'd you get for a spearflinger?
Ace those mutherphoucers in the chin. Don't forget to shoot a 5 gallon bucket of .22s in a summer.
Got a PSE Drive LT. Should be here in about two weeks.
There are WAAY more opportunities here for archery than rifle (in my situation). I can hunt our 'South Hills' without a draw which will afford me much more time in country (I could hunt after work) due to its proximity. Antelope, deer and elk all have earlier non draw hunts for bow. Probably should've done this a long time ago...
And, yeah...anytime spent hunting is ok by me even its climbing the steep, thick stuff!
I hear ya. I bought dropped a retarded amount of money on a Bowtech awhile back when I thought archery was the only time I'd have to get out and about. Shoots damn well and easy, but other than blowing a pretty easy shot on a raghorn a couple years ago it just sits in the corner and glares at me. Were I a less lazy man or if I weren't on the phoucing prairie I expect it'd get more love.
Maybe Travis, er, Clark should have punched his elk instead of trying to shoot it....
Last effort to punch two tags tomorrow.
Let's just say headstamps have been glanced at a time or two...
GFY.
Clark
Learn to use LC brass and you won't have to worry. (Hint- they never say 22-250.everything else is swage-able as long as you're not right at red-line.)

My vagina dropped around 0745 and I had to drag that sumbitch around all day. That was some cold, cold.
Lookin' like tag soup for this guy. Just haven't seen anything worth shootin'.
Might drive around with the Pollock and see if she can't bust somethin' that isn't more than 50yds off the road.
As an aside, I had the privilege of meeting a 76 year old rancher that has lived here his whole life. And holy fugg did that dude have some awesome stories.
The damn wind blew all frikken afternoon and they are calling for more today. Just not that enthused about the windchill, that or content with being a puzzy.
We will have to make a giant bowl of tag soup!
(did the rancher think you were crazy? I mentioned to my dad yesterday after chores that maybe I would go hunting/hiking and he gave me the, don't be an idiot look...)
Gonna do a quick drive by in a few minutes on the way to the farm. Maybe a big, retarded whitetail will present himself...yeah right.
Was North of Sam yesterday and it was the 1st time my 6.7L Ford failed to just fire right up despite being plugged in all night. Had to leave the key in the "on" position for about a minute before the computer thought stuff was actually warm enough to fire.

He was too nice to say we were idiots but he sort of implied it...
My buddy wanted to get a Christmas tree for his wife and so he cut one down. We were gettin' straight Griswald in that bitch. Only problem was when it hit the ground it looked like somebody threw a glass tree on the ground. We were laughin' our asses off in between tears of pain due to the cold.
Are the deer numbers overall way down for you guys out that way? It's amazing how few we are seeing this year.
Maybe Clark will find something today too? How cold is it out there today? 58 here right now with 16mph wind. I may go bust some wood ducks....
There is a nice whitetail lingering about one area, but the landowner wants him to live through this season. He's nice, but we'd like him to become more nicer.
I can't recall many times that I was as cold as I was yesterday. It was -15 when we headed up the hillside and the wind was nothing short of brutal. It was pretty fuggin' bad. Even for here.
I have a couple doe tags left, but I'm not sure I'll fill them. The kids have been filling the freezer and it looks like one of them is still on a mission.
This was my son's first year hunting (he's 7) and he busted a button buck early in the season. He then busted a doe a few days later. He likes to pull the trigger...
His big sister killed her first buck and it's been eating at him since. He's counting the days until late youth season (Dec 27 & 28).
A buddy's daughter shot the deer below during gun season, but didn't kill it. The bullet looks like it grazed the spine area -- maybe still in there? The buck went down for a few minutes, then got away as they were going to get him. It was a weird deal. Anyway, the deer is losing bunches of weight and I'm thinking he won't make it through the winter. I put a blind up hoping he's still around for late youth. Maybe the boy can connect for all the right reasons....
It would be uber gay to hunt all day and come back to a truck that won't start. That thought has crossed my mind as well
Luckily the slow start was in the hotel parking lot. When it didn't turn over right away I figured I was in for about 2hrs of drinking coffee before I could roust the jumpstart dude. Then I remembered a pard who used to pack in on the Buffalo Horn late in the season talking about coming back after the truck sitting cold for days or even a week and running the key to "on" and the glow plugs staying hot for ~2min, doing this twice before even trying to start. My glow plug light had turned off but it obviously wasn't warm enough. No big deal, especially considering we were in town and had a warm spot in case it didn't start.
D, hope you guys that buck. Even if you don't maybe he'll pull out of it.
Clay, oh yeah, the old turn the glow plugs on 2-3 times and wait trick works great. I went to start our old mixer wagon tractor this morning and it spun over slow and barely started. Ran for a few seconds and wouldn't pop off again. Went to jump it and then realized it helps to turn the gas on.....duh
Wages, whiskey shots my man, instant antifreeze!
BGG, the sun is out and the yotes should be too!
Flave, it is uber nice out looking through the window...
Was a good evening. One stand, one dog, one shot, one proud papa. Sat down started calling. Son says "holy crap there's one!" Sho nuff streaking across the field left to right. I says " get on him, I'll get it to stop, when it does shoot his ass." squeak squeak . Dog basically faces us, boom. Flop. Phoucers a pretty fair shot with that .243. Little over 200 yards, 100 gr Horny in the chest out the side made a big hole. Had time and it was beautiful (if chilly eve) and should've made another stand or 2. But he wanted to tan it so we skun it in the field with his badass Menefee. Should've kept that damn thing for myself.
