He's as good as they get, past, present, and future
Merle stands at the top of the Country Music world.
I was just given tickets to see his son Scott Haggard in a tribute to his Dad on Friday night. If he is half as good as Merle it will be a great show.
had to watch them, always a sucker for a merle song.
#1 in my book.i got hooked on merle when i was a kid. found a 45 of mama tried and i couldn't stop listening to it. then in about 1976 a bunch of us went the charlestown wv. horse races. once a month they had a country music show and the hag was playing. back then we'd pretty well get wasted on 7-7's at the track. my wife to be then had brought her aunt lucy along to see merle . she got tore up on 7-7 and took off to go meet merle in the middle of the show. in the middle of mama tried aunt staggered onto the stage and i ran her down right before they hauled her to jail. merle never missed a note,he followed us to the edge of the stage as the song was ending ,gave her a kiss on the cheek and shook my hand. i think he'd as many dickles as we had 7-7's that night.
Hagg kicks azz.....have seen him a couple different times. My favorite .......still crank it up leaving work every friday.

One of, if not the greatest in country. Besides his music, he could do some pretty good impersonations. I knew that, and had forgotten about it. Seen a film clip a while ago that brought a deluge of memories back.
