Anybody know?
Dunno. It does the same thing on my iMac running Yosemite.

FC
The site is diseased.

Work your way through it the best you can.
Because the advertising is full of malware.
Its full of virus's, bugs, and whatever else is out there.
Im getting tired of google play popping up.
Can't hardly read anything, cuz it keeps reloading and going back to the top of the page.
First site to visit.
None others have problems as this place.
Don't have those/any issues with my iPad....
It crashes a fair bit on my iphone, but does fine on Chrome with my pc
Same problem on my I-Phone. It started about a week ago.....
Cause I thingys suck! laugh
No problems on a PC running Firefox with adblocker wink
Glad to see ya back on the Fire, EH.

No problems with my IPad on the Fire.
Never had it crash once in almost a decade now.
Crashes pretty regularly on my ipad, but only on certain wifi networks. Works fine on my macbook running firefox.
Mine constantly crashes on two separate iPads. I close the feedat the top before the page downloads entirely to prevent the crashing. It works some of the time. No other site does this.

Same here. Must be an Apple and/or Google "thang".

Why does this site constantly crash and reload

This topic comes up about once a week, and has for years.
It's not going to improve

Crow, I had the same problem. The fix is to download Mercury web browser and turn on ad blocking inside of it. Hated browsing this site before that, now it's great.

Might be worth seeing if there is any ad blocking built into Safari, I didn't look too hard into it.
I can't even log on to the campfire from my iphone.

iOS 8.

Apple replaced my iPad 2 last week because the upgrade nuked it. My iPhone 5 sucks now too. On here, Drudge, and everywhere else.

My replacement iPad is running 7, and it works great, just like it did before the "upgrade."

Google "iOS 8 sucks."

Like I said, my iPad 2 got completely replaced.
I don't have IOS 8 and mine has been redirecting me to the app store repeatedly. Hire someone to fix it you lazy a$$.
This site is the ONLY one that I have problems with on my iPhone and PC. Borderline unusable.
elkchsr:

If you PM me, I will do my best to help.
Only time I have trouble is with my Iphone 5......of course running IOS 8.

^^^This^^^
I'm still running version IOS 7.1. I figure that's why I don't have problems here on the Fire.
I'm sure glad I've never downloaded IOS 8.
"A problem occoured with this web page so it was reloaded."

That is exactly the problem I'm having.
Mine ran beast with IOS 6 whatever when I first got it. When I updated to 7 I could browse ok but couldn't see/play vids on here not post them.

Upgraded to 8 and have almost quit this site numerous times it's so damn bad....

About the only site it happens on...
Usually happens after I have finished with a longwinded post and before I can hit the "submit" button. Then I've got to start over.
Is there a way to go back to IOS 7 from IOS 8 at this point?

The campfire is basically abandonware now.
My old azz iPhone 4s runs 7.1.2, whatever that is.

It sucks. Gotta hit submit quick or it boots ya off!
Hah I made it!
Three in a row!!!!!
Mercury working good on my iPhone 5.
What's Mercury? A browser thingy?
I have no idea as I type from my Samsung phone eating a burger and fries in South Korea.
Yes. A browser.

Google "Mercury Browser". Press "get". Wait for it to load. Then Open. Click the settings button (looks like three lines), block popups, turn ad blocker on

Goodbye Safari.

Try try, please.
Why do we have to jump through these hoops to use your forum?

Is this older forum software that is basically defunct? How many releases are there past this one? Are they better?

It's funny, but just as I was reading your post a problem occurred while loading the page. I'm running Safari and Yosemite, on a MacBook Air.

Just FYI, and because I think it's useful for you to know this, I'm one of those who are experiencing these problems on the Campfire pretty much constantly now.

This is the only site - I haven't been to all the sites on the internet, admittedly - but this is the only site that I've been to on the internet, where this is happening to my computer.

It's annoying, and it results in my spending a little less time here, but as of right now I'm not inclined to change my browser just to deal with a quirk that I suspect you will eventually fix, by and by. grin

It's a conspiracy I tell ya! laugh
This site has always been golden running W7/ Chrome/ Ad-block. Today there have been many failures.
Yup same on my computer

Same

Mine was doing that with chrome and safari. Tried the Mercury, and with pop ups blocked and the ad block turned on (in extensions) it now works perfectly.
More than a few times last week, I was automatically redirected to the app store for some app I think was called GILT, had to close App Store, close safari and the 24hr page, then could reopen for an hour or two before it happened again on multiple 24hr forums.
None in the last two days, haven't upgraded to 8
Once you get the Mercury browser, go up to the puzzle piece looking thing and hit it, go to "more" and turn on Adblock

It will make your keyboard quit disappearing

I had that with Chrome AND I E . I switched to Firefox and adblocker+ and I have no problems on my laptop.

But... I log in on each visit. And I keep Adobe disabled.
The Mercury browser works like a champ, so long safari and crashes. Thanks.

Why should the people generating your revenue have to jump through hoops to generate your revenue (log in and click)? No other sites have issues resembling anything close to what your members have repeatedly complained about here. Repeatedly. Over and over again. And over again.

It's obvious that your non-moderation is all about revenue, but now your asking us to jump through hoops to deal with the revenue driven method of non-moderation. That takes balls, I'll give you that.

I had to log in 3 times to post this. iPhone6-Safari-No issues anywhere on the whole dang interwebs but here.

Somebody email me or call when this stuff is fixed, or when everybody gets fed up and jumps ship for somewhere else.
oyoa..
I think I'm going to start my own website.

Maybe Rick can't afford to fix the problem on his website (if there even is one) because everyone that uses his website is using adblock, and not even seeing the ads that are supposed to be generating income for the website.

BD,

Why do the citizens who pay your salary have to be harassed and given a speeding ticket by you???
I had the same problem. 2 IPads and 2 iPhone 6's. I went to the Apple Store and they suggested I upgrade my IOS to 8.1.2. The previous upgrade was 8.1.1 and caused some problems. 8.1.2 helps rectify those problems. To see if there is an upgrade available, go to Settings, go to General, go to Software Update. If you see that there is an update, back on out. Update your device through iTunes so you don't chew up device space.

Connect your apple device to your mother computer. Open up iTunes. Click on device symbol in upper left hand corner. iTunes should recognize your device and a window prompt should appear that there is an upgrade available for 8.1.2. Follow the instructions form there. It will take some time, but your device should run smoother.

FWIW, I run Chrome and the wife runs Safari on ours.

Don't be naive. Conspiracy is the norm, not the exception. That's why it's on the books in every penal code in the nation.
10-4. I will contain my level of naivete.

Thanks and GFY.

So weird having a problem-free interface with the Fire using an Apple device. This will take some getting used to.

Exactly , iOS 8 sucks . Running 7 with no problems
Getting to the point where trying to read threads on this site using my iPhone with constant page reloads is about as much fun as smashing my balls with a really big hammer

Using Chrome here too (PC) - it works fine, but sometimes it can be a tad slow...

It does it on my phone too. Schitt's getting really, REALLY old.
Windows 7 ultimate on a PC running Firefox with adblocker with no problems.
Did anybody answer the question why only this site?

no, but what I learned so far is... if you spin on your head three times, lift your right leg at 30*, hold your right arm out with your index finger pointed to the east, add a different browser, 6 types of ad blocker, .. you will be just fine.

Oh and BTW...it is all your fault. How many campfire guru's have told you how to fix this problem. wink
That sounds anout right
It's BS that has been goping on for FAR too long.

Rick obviously doesn't give a $hit that so many are having problems...........

Working on this.

Is it any better this morning? Most of this stuff only appears to certain folks and so it is hard to pin down.

Please let me know.

Nope - it's worse.

On the iMac, it keeps telling me it fails to load the page, and asks if I want to send a report to Apple. I get that message about 15 to 20 times every 5 minutes.

On my iPhone, it won't load beyond the 1st page of hunter's campfire, or keep me logged-in for more than 3 minutes.

FC
Sat down to breakfast this morning and saw the jar of jelly on the table. Reminded me of this place and the damn Jelly Splash.

I got so mad I punched Birddogs wife right in the mouth.

I'll try all this.....but I still want $.99 of my next Campfire gear shop purchase.
Mercury is much better now!

Only there is no cursor when typing. That's kinda weird.
Thanks for the tip about the Mercury browser. That is the BOMB! Lightening fast and very stable so far.

Post a survey and you will see how wide spread the issues are with this site.

It's 7:57 EST, and it's still happening a lot. Ironically, it's happening a lot on this thread.
Mercury and adblock fixed the wifeys iPad that I occasionally peruse the site with.

Solution to the cursor issue with Mercury is to minimize the keyboard, then tap in the box where you want the cursor to appear, then the keyboard comes back up and you have your cursor.

Not going to read all 11pages, but AdBlocker is the key to smooth operations on an IPad. The free version has a very short trial period, but for $2.99 or $3.99 you can run the Fire like a gazelle. Well worth the investment if you want to hang around here.
