Ed, you gotta be either from either TX or LA, if you're still regularly getting them that size. Texas did have a very good restocking system going for a while. Haven't tracked it lately, so don't know about its current state.

Popped a pack of them that size in the past. Don't hardly happen any more down here (FL). Used to be like clockwork in the passes at night, or wading the oyster beds (3-15 lb'ers) during the day.

There is some good news, though. DNR and Mote Marine Lab had been working hard to reintroduce fry into the ecosystem. Black Point got a bunch of them restocked and they seem to be flourishing.
