Right on....

No BBQ today for us.

My friend had the door knock last week telling him that his boy is not coming home. Josh Barron, his son was killed in an osprey training event gone wrong.

As a parent, we see other parents and secretly judge their actions and intentions. Watching what the parents did for the kids, traveling hundreds of miles to hockey games, hunting....it didn't matter they gave the kids their all. I can say that the entire family was a bunch of great Americans who are minus their son, brother and friend today.

Had the pleasure of attending a VFW memorial ceremony in Grant City, MO. They did a good job.

My Memorial Day custom is to take my grandson to Saratoga National Cemetery. He read the grave stone of a man that serverd in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He wanted to find 9 more. It didn't take him long. I feel completely overwhelmed and somewhat insignificant every time I go there. The place is filled with far better men than me. I am humbled. May God bless them all.
