An Angel has passed!! Belgian Nurse Augusta Chiwy who tenderly cared for our Brothers at the Battle of Bastogne has gone to the Angels cry May the Troopers of the 101st who you so selflessly cared for in that battle surround you and love you for eternity.

age 94. Blown through a wall when the hospital was hit yet came back and tended her wounded Troopers. Awarded a medal by the US Army and presented by the CG and CSM of the 101st. cry

And it seems so many have never been taught to respect them let alone any history about them and OUR country....
Rest In Honored Peace Nurse Chiwy.
Looks like she'll be buried in Bastogne.

Her services were way beyond just duty, but there was also thousands upon thousands of women in all services that took part and many way beyond what was expected of them during the war. And to this day not much has recognized their service!

In fact today many criticize the women that serve their county in today's conflicts...

Augusta Chiwy was a CIVILIAN Belgian nurse. Not a US Military nurse.
Rest in peace nurse Chiwy, thank you for taking care of our boys.
Just goes to show that not all the Battered Bastards of Bastogne carried a Garand. Rest in Peace good lady.
