If all you’re interested in is the topline then this is the best poll for Trump in weeks.

Quote
The other news in today’s poll is … not so good:
He’s had a 14 point drop in his net favorability rating over the last month from +26 at 56/30 to now just +12 at 50/38. And he’s lost ground in head to head match ups with the other leading GOP contenders. The only one he leads is Bush by 20 points at 56/36, although even that is down from his 25 point advantage at 59/34 last time. Last month he led Rubio (50/42) and Fiorina (48/41) in head to heads, now he trails them 50/43 and 47/45 respectively. And what was already a 49/43 deficit to Carson one on one has now grown to 52/41.

Quote
you’ll find that supporters of nearly every other GOP candidate reliably break against Trump when he’s pitted against Carson, Fiorina, or Rubio. The only exceptions are Rand Paul’s and Rick Santorum’s supporters, and they might be hard to gauge accurately given how small those samples are. Supporters of Ted Cruz, who’s spent months complimenting Trump, prefer Carson to Trump by a margin of 75/17, prefer Fiorina by a margin of 71/24, and prefer Rubio by a margin of 59/30. Even Trump’s ostentatious hawkishness on immigration can’t woo Cruz fans away from Rubio, in other words. The suggestion here is that there’s strong “Anyone But Trump” sentiment among the majority of voters who aren’t already supporting him, exceeded only by “Anyone But Bush” sentiment.
Don't you know the Trumpers do not want to see this $hit?
They get all upset.
nah, they don't get upset

they just go back to staying home on election day.

for all you guys pushing Fiorina, Carson, Rubio and anyone but Trump

enjoy Hillary as POTUS
Well Trump just went out and said he's fine with eminent domain. Doesn't bother him in the least.

Anybody that pays attention to such things know that businessmen have their own entitlement ideas, along with farmers and probably nearly everyone. I also believe that there is a place for eminent domain, but it should be used sparingly and always for the good of the public, not businessmen. miles
The haters are digging really deep now !

Really eminent domain, I think we have just one or two bigger problems right now, WTF!

Nothing you can do about that. There are a few who always go all-in on the longshot, hoping to win big, but happy to have an excuse for losing. Conservatives don't take risks like that.

Amen!

If Trump can control his arrogance and if enough candidates stay in to keep the vote split up during the primary and Trump wins it, then I'll vote for him. It will be another 4 years of big government and big-business regulations and law passing, but at least we stand a chance of getting a Kennedy on the Supreme Court rather than a Ginsburg/Kagan/Sotomayer/Breyer.

Trump tried to use eminent domain for his parking lots...
The crazies who have been running the show for the past 15 years have destabilized the Middle East and now two nuclear powers are at odds in Syria.

I don't even think of it as "us vs. them" because nobody out there is currently representing the American people.

The people are in a very touchy situation solely due to a handful of people who have an agenda that has nothing to do with the benefit of anybody except that small handful of people.

Those people own most of the candidates running for office.

It's easy to pick them out. They are the candidates who talk about continuing to escalate the wars in the Middle East. And those are the candidates who get the positive media from the propaganda machine.

It'll be a damn wonder if one of them doesn't get elected,..and if they do, the situation could get very sporty over the next few years.
But let's talk about parking lots.
Hillary:

http://www.usnews.com/news/the-report/articles/2015/10/07/hillary-clintons-inner-hawk-soars-over-syriahttp://www.usnews.com/news/the-report/articles/2015/10/07/hillary-clintons-inner-hawk-soars-over-Syria

The former secretary of state's call for a "no-fly" zone crystallized a truth that can no longer be buried, much as liberals would rather avoid thinking about it because they like so much else about her: Clinton really is more hawkish than President Barack Obama. She would be a president more open than he is to military intervention, with all the lost lives, huge expenses and unanticipated consequences that entails.

Rubio:

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/10/07/marco-rubio-vows-challenge-vladimir-putin-syria/

In recent media interviews, Rubio has asserted that he would stand up to the Russians if elected president, and he’s making the case for getting involved in Syria as well.

In an interview with CNBC, Rubio indicated that he would create a “safe zone” in Syria which would include a no-fly zone in the country to stop foreign interests from getting involved militarily to prop up Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

Such a coincidence that candidates from opposite ends of the political spectrum have exactly the same "solution" to the mess in Syria.

Essentially, start a war with a nuclear power,...over fuggin' Syria.
A no-fly zone isn't a "solution". And it wouldn't start a war unless Russian planes violate it and fire at us. Which if it didn't happen in the 50's/60's isn't going to happen now.

Cripes...

I'll be voting too

it may be the GOP candidate, or it may be the Libertarian candidate or even someone else

but who it won't be is who a bunch of Fox New minions tells me I should vote for as a conservative.

I'm guessing the same people that were conservatives that didn't vote for McCain or Romney.

How is that approach working out for the GOP btw?

What do you think a military decision to implement a no fly zone means?

Trump: Hey, conservatives, eminent domain is “wonderful”

From Hot Air...

“Eminent domain, when it comes to jobs, roads, the public good, I think it’s a wonderful thing,” Trump told Fox News’ Bret Baier.
“You’re not taking property. … You’re paying a fortune for that property,” he said of the process, adding that homeowners can be paid “four, five, six, ten times” their property’s value.
Trump, a real estate mogul, noted that he’s dealt with eminent domain a lot in building developments in New York City. He said the idea that people are forced to sell homes they don’t really want to give up is a myth.

Conservatives are not opposed to the use of eminent domain for public good.
The Trump court cases were about owners refusing to sell to Donald Trump for his parking lots.
It is about property rights.
It is raw redistribution of wealth from the working class to the rich.

That is the kind of authoritarian power that Trump has said he would use over many issues.
I have never heard him talk about trying to get something though Congress. He is always going to negotiate with everyone in the world, but where are his quotes about dealing with Congress?
Okay,..I'll answer it for you.

It's a threat to shoot down any aircraft operating over a designated area.

Now,..to get an idea of how crazy such a suggestion coming from Presidential candidates is at this time, Russia is flying sorties against Islamic radicals in Syria,..and American presidential candidates are threatening them with a no fly zone in order to prevent them from doing it.

Ponder that for a while.

Ponder that for a while.

Most of those sorties are against rebel groups fighting Assad, not ISIS groups. And especially targeting the rebel groups that Obama's been stupid enough to arm.

And when they are done there, they will probably go start bombing the Kurds in Iraq because they are the biggest threat to Russia's buddy Iran in the region.

But if you think WW3 is going to start over a no-fly zone over Libya... wow.
what would Rubio or Hillary do if Russia ignored their no fly zone?

Not Libya, Syria,..not that it matters.

The threat is being discussed. And the whole damn thing is about nothing that will ever benefit America. In fact, America would be better off if Syria was left under the control of Assad.

The whole situation has gotten insane.

American presidential candidates are threatening a nuclear power over a conflict in Syria that America stirred up and has no vested interest in.

Correct, and why do you think Trumps parking lots were allowed to use eminent domain?

Development happens, people (the public) need to be able to park places to use the facilities. Just because a developer is footing the bill, doesn't mean that the project is not for the public good, and often times required by the city to begin with.

I've been part of many projects where a private developer had to use eminent domain to get the property needed to complete their project. 100% of the time the City agency required them to do that portion of the project and invoked eminent domain for them. And 100% of the time the home owners simply held out knowing that the court would award them more money through eminent domain than if they sold to the developer, they walked away smiling.

I wouldn't worry about parking lots. If the crazies who control America's foreign policy in the Middle East don't get reeled in, there's going to be parking lots for everybody that's left.

Yes, because the world is a much better place if you just run home and hide under the covers from scary people like Putin.

I'm not a big interventionist, but the world is a much better place FOR US if we stand up to these countries. We've had 7 years of cowards in the White House, and we are definitely not safer.

Oh bullshit. There's never been anything to be gained for America by destabilizing the Middle East.

If you want Obama's antics to get the planet nuked over some chithole like Syria, well,...you're an idiot.

I think America has more value than that.

You need to start another thread where you lay out your foreign policy plans and fears and terrors and let this one get back to Trump.

New Quinnipiac poll out today for Florida:
Trump: 28
Carson: 16
Rubio: 14
Bush: 12
Fiorina: 7
Cruz: 6
Undecided: 10

On one-up matches against Clinton:
Trump loses 41 to 46
Bush wins 44 to 43
Carson loses 43 to 45
Fiorina loses 42 to 44
Rubio wins 45 to 44

On one-up matches against Biden:
Biden wins them all, with a huge 52 to 38 win against Trump. Biden beats Fiorina 49 to 38, others are within 3-4%.

On one-up matches against Sanders:
Sanders loses to everybody except Trump, who he beats by 46 to 41.

On the question of "Is your opinion of Donald Trump favorable, unfavorable or you haven't heard enough about him?" the answers are:
Favorable 35%
Unfavorable 57%
Hvn't hrd enough 6%

Hillary Clinton has only a 51% unfavorable.

This is not intended primarily as a Trump bashing thread... but to point out that while he's #1 among the candidates for the primary, he's polling in most places as the worst candidate in the presidential elections.

Every poll keeps confirming it.

PS: The poll was actually for FL, OH and PA. The results for Trump in the different states were pretty similar to the Florida results. Carson/Fiorina do better in OH and PA than in FL, Rubio/Bush not so much.

Agreed. That is in fact what commonly happens. In other words, it is not a worthwhile issue here and certainly not anti-conservative.

You are right that often the development is a very positive improvement for the community, too. Not always, but often.

This is not like the Fish & Wildlife seizing some ranch that a some pioneer family has owned for generations to turn back to habitat for wolves and varmints.

I've seen the most godawful plots in downtown Osaka, Japan, because the builder of a big high-rise could not get eminent domain to remove a worthless post-WW2 "rabbit hutch" shack on one corner. It spoils the whole neighborhood and, together with stupid bureaucrats, has long held back economic development in Osaka.

OTOH, the Great Hanshin Earthquake of January 1995 that struck the region leveled dozens of blocks in Kobe. They were all gone. For the most part, the city could not even recreate the lot lines! It rebuilt with the heavy sponsorship of a few big companies. For example, the area around the Kobe Daimaru Department Store today is a beautiful, trendy area of shops, boutiques, apartments and businesses, that they could only dream of before. (I headed the local American Chamber of Commerce for several years around then, so I was close to the city leaders who did it.)

When Donald Trump develops, he goes first class all the way. People fight to buy his condos and golf memberships. He also understands the value of paying a fair price and protecting his brand. If he sought eminent domain, it should not bother anyone.

I had to laugh this week to see a Facebook post that claimed that his "Make America Great Again" caps are made in China. That is not so. (Of course, there likely are counterfeits.) Aside from the fact that he always goes first class, he is too smart not to have them made in the USA, as they clearly indicate.
