Bristoe:

Thanks. I needed that.

KC

My Lord. That was good.
Very good.
Absolutely outstanding.
Thanks for posting that.

When I was a kid, burnt motor oil with sulfur added cured most any animal disease.
Rick Bragg is quite a writer.

Very nice
Thanks for posting!
Reminds me of the Lab we had, was a physical and emotional wreck when he followed my daughter home from school, The previous handlers abused the hell out of him. After about 4 years I earned his trust and by the time he left us he had gotten rid of all his demons.

Great read Bristoe thanks for posting, its always good to think of Jake.
Reminds me of Mickey.
Me too.
Yep and a damn fine tale.
ttt
I liked that very much.

And per the author's comment, who ever said you aren't supposed to pray for a dog? Seems like a natural thing to do.

Bristoe,

You hit that one out of the park.

Thanks,

Steve

Well, I didn't. Rick Bragg did. I just found it.
good stuff indeed, I enjoyed the read

tks for postin it B.
Rick Bragg pretty much wrote his life story with 3 books. "Ava's Man, "The Prince of Frogtown", and "All Over but the Shouting".

Everything he writes sells big.

Funny thing, he started his career as a journalist. Having somebody who can write like Rick Bragg doing newspaper work is like having Jerry Lee Lewis playing piano for a cake walk.
That one really hit home.
great, thanks for posting
Wow, great writer. Thanks for the link.

That got to me. Things are still a bit fresh for me.
Appreciate the sharing "Bristoe" Who took that ole tomcat under their wing, first you or the wife. I suspect I just found the answer above. grin GW

Musta got something in my eye.
Thanks!
Those kind of dog stories invariably get me to tearing up.
I'm a dog person, and have 3. I think I'll go now and play with the old one.....
Thanks.
