Mike the free rifles come out at 8 years and you have to have under 6,000 post.

There are only 3 kinds of people in this world - Those who can count and those who can't.

In any event, I started thinking about back when I found this place and realized that I've had my .243 Savage 99 a bit past 10 years.

I only found this place because I wanted to get some info on my 99 Saddle Gun.

I was puttin' in 55-60 hours a week at a Japanese manufacturing plant back then.

My shift was 10 hours a day staring at 4:30 in the afternoon and most of the weekend.

I didn't have much life back then. I started hangin' out in Hunter's Campfire.

After putting in a shift, there was the witching hours which began when I got home during the wee hours of the morning and lasted until I had to go to bed in order to get to sleep before the sun came up.

I fix up a stout drink,..get on here, and bullshit. I was always in an exceptionally good mood as a result of not being locked down in that manufacturing gulag and some of the stuff I typed back then reflected it.

It ain't like that no more. I just kind of coast through.

I'm surprised Rick Bin didn't run me off back then. I'd say most anything.

I remember this. I don't think I could do it now.

I've always enjoyed your posts, either thought provoking or good for a chuckle.

Those early days were fun weren’t they. Don't seem all that long ago.

What's scarier is the first hunting forum I joined was the coffee shop, which goes back over 20 years. I believe Klikitarik and BW (who I haven't seen post in a long time) also go back that long and I'm sure a few others I don't recall.

how long i wonder

Look at that 8 years and 8 months, only 19xx posts. where's that rifle?

Hmmm...

I had to put up that previous post to see what my anniversary date was/is... hokay, I've got almost a year to go yet.

It's been an interesting 9 years for me, Bristoe. You've certainly given me things to think about. Glad you're still around.

Great read Brisco.

Long time lurker here, only recently registered. Your self depreciating and generally interesting perspectives have kept me coming back. I for one, am glad you have hung around, and whether I agree with you or not, always wish the best for you and your family.

My first forum was Shooters. I went over to Stephen Camp's forum for a while when that one shut down, then migrated over here. I've hung out on a few others here & there, but I guess 24HCF is my current favorite forum, if "favorite" is really the right word.

As far as I know, Bristo coined the phrase;" It's jus' da innanet........ stupid."

Don't see it much anymore. Which is a shame since it WAS a good reminder.
