So, the wizard of Oz is apparently going n I G G E R
The Wiz is a good show. It won 7 Tony awards in 1975, including best musical. It's very clever and has some great songs in it.
There's another adaptation of the story still on Broadway called "Wicked". You'll probably like that one better because it has a white girl playing the good witch Glynda and a green girl playing Elpheba, the bad witch. That show won 3 Tony awards.
Perhaps you should see the show before you pass judgement.
now dang nabit, we cant have ya'll fellers goin' jungle bunny on us here, we're supposed to hate them colored unconditional like, cause ya know, they're not really people and all!
unreal, like it has been pointed out, its been out for a LONG time, has won a ton of awards, put away the blind hatred of anything black, and realize they as a people they do somethings well, and acting/singing is one of them.

If your Daughter enjoys OZ she needs to be an Ozian. The books have humor for young and old. Here is a link to the International Wizard of OZ club. Your Daughter is the perfect age to meet Kyp/Ozma and the Hungry Tiger http://ozclub.org/
