read today where a fart burns a average of 67 calories.every 57 farts equal 1 lb weight loss so light them up. i can just see 500-600 campfire guys reading this with one cheek raised letting one rip. i good burp only burns 5 calories so hold it in til it works its way out the bottonm. happy farting guys! just think ,now knowing this the ladies may just start to fart.we all know they never did before.

Oh dear. Snopes says it isn't true. Your body doesn't burn any calories because gas pressure does the work, not muscles.
However, farts are at body temperature so that means they're fairly warm. Heat or energy is measured in calories so perhaps they're referring to those expelled calories.

I'll tell you what, if I rip one around you guy's, I guarantee ya'll will run no less than a mile at a very good clip...so, yes, they will burn calories, just not mine.
