Have to say what is wrong with this nation with all of the anti police officer mentality?Needless to say there are a few bad apples that are police officers but hell that is in every profession.Just getting tired of the news reports attacking police officers on a daily basis.You could not pay me enough money to be a police officer in todays society.

You might have heard about the one bad apple spoiling the whole bunch.

It the progressive fascists who are doing this. They keep blacks as livestock so they can harvest their votes. They harvest the votes by pandering to them, by telling them that it's racist cops who arrest and kill them when their out committing crimes. That now is the time where they can force the cops to stop bothering them while their out robbing, assaulting, raping, dealing and murdering.

The root cause is that there are too many BS laws on the books nowadays and it's virtually impossible to go about your day without breaking one of them. This leads to too many interactions with police over trivial BS that shouldn't have been illegal to begin with. Over time it leads to an "us vs. them" mentality.

For example: I'm in Germany right now on a business trip. I went into a grocery store yesterday and there were a group of kids in front of me in line to check out. They were likely between 16-18 and each one of them had an open beer bottle in their hand. (16 is the drinking age here) They got to the cashier, paid for the beer they were already drinking and went on their way. The cashier never batted an eye. I've seen it a lot, it's standard practice over here to grab a beer out of the cooler, open it, and pay for it when you leave. If that had happened in the U.S. they'd have called the SWAT team, God forbid a minor drink a beer or someone open a beer bottle in public. The kids would have been hauled off to jail, put in rehab, expelled from school, and ended up with a record that would likely affect their admissions to college & thus their future career opportunities.

Just an example of how we criminalize stupid crap that shouldn't be criminalized.

I can't speak to everywhere, but here as a general rule the smaller the town, the more likely that the police will be a general azzhole. Our State Police and Highway Police are usually top notch, with just an occasional bad one. Long distance truckers may disagree with the Highway Police one, but they worked out of the Highway Department and I was around them quite a bit, and found them very good. To me it equates to the pay that is available, so the small towns must take what they can get, and then you get a mayor with a power trip, and that is trouble. Couple that with people like me that live out in the country and must by necessity, fend for themselves, and there is room for disagreements. miles

Over here, some younger Officers simply don't seem to have good people skills and in alot of cases appear "hostile" when there is no need.

I have wondered whether this is part of their training ie they are told to be "assertive" to take control of a situation from the get go?

By way of contrast, a number of years ago, i was pulled over by an Officer manning a radar speed trap on the out skirts of my local town.

I was caught doing about 45MPH in a 30MPH zone..The Officer flagged me down as I approached and we spent about 15 minutes in conversation.

The Officer was amazingly polite and professional, but still managed to make me feel like a dick for speeding and then issued me a ticket without getting me hositle or riled up.

As we drove off, my then wife when commented what a nice man the Officer was!

Now being a bit older and wiser, I really do appreciate what a clever approach that Officer had, and how he achieved far more than he would have has his initial tone been hostile and overly authoritive...

If it's just a few bad apples, why is it so common for the videos to show multiple officers involved? What would the odds be of just the tiny few bad apples always being on the scene at the same time ... if not participating, failing to stop and handcuff those who are? No, the problem has become institutional. It's the police culture that has gone sour, and with the tacit approval and encouragement of the ever-more-corrupt establishment being defended by it. The good ones, increasingly, are left with few options short of quitting and finding other employment.

Typically, a young guy who wants to be a cop for all the wrong reasons gets weeded out by the State L E agencies, and the ones in the large cities.

But the small agencies, city and county, just need someone who is willing to work cheap.

Law Enforcement in general is one of the safer occupations, but the Myth of the Hero Cop serves the interests of too many entities to allow it to be be exposed for what it is... a myth.

The whole idea behind a representative Republic is the fact that we can't vote on everything. I wish we had enough control over who we elect in the first place, let alone how they vote, but the sad fact is we don't. Mainly the only laws I am for are ones that deal with expenditures to keep things running and laws gutting previous laws that were stupid to begin with. I'd much rather, for instance, that the whole GCA just be removed, but I'll take the proliferation of arcane, byzantine CCW laws over not being able to legally carry. There's also the fact that no regular joe has the money to see stuff through all the way to the SCOTUS if something goes wrong for him and that's where you get all these compromises. So "we" is not necessarily "me". I can only ever speak for myself, but one can logically assume that most feel the same, if they stop from working their asses off to ponder it.
