Our Sportsmans Whs has piles of CCI Tactical AR 22LR in 300 round boxes for about $25. Everything else on the shelf is either shorts or target.

What is Tactical AR 22LR..?

cry

Apparently the bullet is designed to feed through an AR type semi-auto without jamming. It's a solid point. I don't know if they make it in an HP.

Here in Jackson Co.West Virginia.I can always find it,but it aint always what I want, they are usually solid points ,and are always $6.00,or$7.00 per 50..

A local farm supply store has been having a fair amount of .22lr in stock but much of it is brand names I'm not familiar with.

Last week we were shopping there so I slipped over to their gun counter and saw they had some Winchester and Remington .22lr in stock. The Winchester ammo was 100rd plastic box, 'Super Speed' HP copper plated, 37 grain, 1330 FPS, one box limit. I bought my one box, just because I could, $7.19 plus KY sales tax.

The Remington ammo was 500rd bulk packs. I didn't pay any attention to specific type as I wasn't interested in buying any at $38 (IIRC), per.

5 x 7.19 = $35.95. That's the equivalent of $36/500 round box. Not that much different although the quality might not be the same.

All kidding aside, CCI AR TACTICAL is some of the most consistently accurate .22 ammo I've ever used. "Consistent" in that it produces just about the best groups an individual rifle or pistol is capable of, across at least half a dozen firearms I've tried it in. Expensive target ammo will shade it by a gnat's hair but overall the CCI ammo is excellent stuff. When I saw this post I almost got in my car and drove to Twin Falls just to get some... wink

I didn't pay attention to whether they have a limit or not. They do on reloading stuff.

Expect to see it disappear again.

As I said, I really didn't pay any attention to the exact type. Just guessing though, the Remingtons were probably either 'Thunderbolts' or 'Golden Bullets', and could have been 525rd instead of 500rd bulk packs.

I don't think I have the picture anymore... But the bullet on the "CCI AR TACTICAL" ammo is a different and unique shape. I'll try and see if I can find the pic.

How well does the solid point Tactical AR cream rodents & rabbits?

AR Tactical .22 ammo? Next on the ban list : your squirrel gun.

I happened to be in Wal Mart last night and did the cursory glance in the ammo cabinet. Low and behold, they had 4 boxes of Federal Champion 40gr. 50 count boxes. I bought all 4. $1.97 per box. First time in 3 years I have been able to buy any at all.

Doesn't look much different or unique to me. Maybe it feeds better on the feed ramps possibly.
