Tired of rolling around under my vehicles so I bought the lift I had queried about a year or so ago. First oil change completed on my son's Honda. Next up an oil change on the roadster then detailing the Mustang underside.

That is really nice!

Congrats.
I hope you consulted with NorthernDave on this purchase.... I know I'd have to.

Congrats!

Very nice, Ed! That's a good looking garage.

(Spent a half hour squatting in the mud and rain wrestling with brakes on my truck today, I'm a bit envious smile

Awesome. I wish I had one for the shed. Cost?
Nice stang, btw.
Very nice Ed. That makes my garage look like a joke. Well done sir! Bev
Those lifts are nice, Ed. My buddy's got one in his garage. Another nice perk is you can have 2 cars in the same slot!
Wowsa, Ed! Very nice

Agree with Mooner there Ed.

Does it have a wood stove and wet bar tho? grin

Geno

PS, if I had one of those I might still work on our vehicles more often. At my age and with my "infirmities" I'm doing what Mooner did today unless I'm "out the road".

I like what you have there. I've been stewing about a two post so I can pull the wheels off and do break work etc. Still looking for the right deal.
Now you need another for the other place?

That should be real handy.

I have enjoyed reading your posts over the years and I am really enjoying your retirement in a vicarious manner. You earned your toys, enjoy the hell out of them.

Nice looking MachI.

I'd post a photo of my new NAPA floor jack, but the moment has kinda passed...........

I have a sweet piece of plywood I put under my vehicles for the floor jack to roll on.

I'd post a pic, but don't want to hijack the thread......

If those are all your vehicles....I'd better start sucking up...big time!

Sweet setup Ed. Nice rides too! Glad you are enjoying your retirement.

Sweet setup! I hope to build a shop one day. And I really like the 'stang

Just be careful and don't open the garage door if you lift the Mustang up any higher. I'd hate to see you drag that door opener arm assembly across the top of it!!

In retirement I'm looking into a 4 car garage with attached house. grin

I did the same and opted for the four post and sliding jack that allows lifting off the tires front or back.

Congrats Ed,

I'm sure you will not only use it, but appreciate it a bunch.

I built my shop with 12' ceiling specifically to put a lift in it...I just haven't bit that bullet yet since I've taken a hiatus from project cars. smile

No as the other place vehicles see little use throughout a year so need little maintenance. A neighbor in need does my oil changes.

No worries, the lift is all of the way up. If another car like the Audi or my Tundra, yep problems.

Do you have to beef up the slab, or will a std 4" slab handle the weight? I'd like to add a lift in the future.

4" with rebar will be fine for a 4 post lift. I like to see a little more for a 2 poster. My shop floor is 6" with rebar.

A four inch three K design was the basis per the previous builder's drawings that I have. Deeper design was built for the last stall where the Kubota resides to handle the original design intent.
.
I hope my garage looks like that when I am older! Any advice on how to get there is appreciated wink
Sir, it seems a general sentiment here that you are having entirely too much fun in your retirement.

Congrats cool

Seeing that Mach-1 had me reachin' for the drool rag...

Damn, those things are sexy..

Not being around for most of your kid's upbringing was worth it for the toys!

Nice garage.

My older brother had a 71 mach 1 429 SCJ back in the late 70's and I've currently got a 69 428 SCJ Mach 1.

Very nice. I am thinking mine will receive a 7 litre Windsor stroker soon. That and a Tremec 5 speed.

Yep, azzess too boot.

That windsor stroker sure seems to be a very popular platform and they've gotten them very dependable and affordable nowadays. Good luck with it!!
