Cruz does not want to be up on that stage with the remaining candidates - all in chorus attacking him. Cruz doesn't want any part of a Marco Rubio led attack on him for 2 hours. Without Trump on that stage the crosshairs are firmly on him.

Trump just put the screws to the rest of the Republican field and especially Cruz. Cruz is desperate to get back on stage with the Donald and off the also ran stage. He can kick ass all day against the rest of the losers but it just makes him the first loser if Trump is not there. It would be a brain dead move for Trump to share the stage with any of the rest of the field right now. He's got nothing to gain but everything to lose on a shared stage. Cruze is desperate and Donald is on his way to making him irrelevant. Cruz will not be his VP pick either. That's going to someone whow can balance Trump .
