Cant be true, so many said he was the man and would beat trump, all we heard for the last while was he was the man, guess some here really do not understand the way people are feeling.
Republican Ted Cruz has withdrawn from the Republican nomination race. Donald Trump is getting set to address his supporters at an event in New York, New York.
Fugg Cruz.
Time for the Trump/Cruz ticket?
He's gonna take the millions he has left and bribe the electoral college delegates.

THIS ISN'T OVER!!!!!!!!!

Giggity,giggity,giggity!!!

Remember when the all of the really savvy folks were saying that Trump "would drop out before the first debate" or how about the second debate or maybe that he was only running to " help Hillery", what a load of crap.

The political world has had it's way with Ted Cruz, for better or for worse. He's in the past (for now), it's time to focus on that cackling demonic witch, Hillary Rodham Clinton.

While I'd love to see Cruz as VP, he'd be better on SCOTUS or in the administration somewhere like AG where he has more ability to affect change. Trump would be wise to pick a VP who will get him a swing state. That said, I think Cruz would be great to unite the GOP again and bring staunch conservatives aboard. Not sure we want that yet. Schidt's getting real.

Might be over, but he still needs to get to 1237.

If it happens i will vote for him.

What the country gets with him might be something, good or bad.
Now the real media coverage of Trump will begin.

+1000

And I also hope she doesn't help carry the senate back to the Dems.
Now let's concentrate on beating Hillary.
I've always considered the wisest of men never bark up the wrong tree. The problem with this country is folks who vote think they can predict the finally of what the man they route for will do when they don't have enouph wits to see the finally of who will even be there to be voted apon. When one knows beyond any doubt who will be there it saves thousands of hours of worthless threads that accomplish nothing other than to expose shear stupidity. I stated 6+ months ago it WILL BE TRUMP AND HILLARY! Now I'll have to read another week of ignorant phugging Bernie supporters till the facts that is facts shut them up.

The biggest problem with the exposure is it tells wise men that stupidity abounds in such numbers that the demise of the USA is a mathematical certainty.

Now I'll make my grand prediction as a wise man to which I am positive most will not heed. The truth is it makes no difference at this point who you try to elect. The crumbling of this country along with complacency and a willingness to ignore started about 100 years ago. 100+ years of complacency shows a much greater issue in mentality of the good folks than it does in the Greed and corruption of governmental officials. Mentality of the good folks has been found lacking and 100+ years demonstrates a factual trend that will continue. The good folks is where every government will be allowed or kept in honest check. The people have spoken loudly and said take as you wish and I'll kiss your ass and anything you please O great master.

I don't vote because from a phycolgical observation I do not participate in worthless endeavors that will not bring about a desired result. Why won't the desired result ever happen.

The answer is simple. Everyone believes the right elected official will fix things. The problem is you cannot fix anything without fixing the complacency of the American people and complacency has a 100 year record of saying it's here to stay.

You don't spell well either.

Funny, you folks that don't vote find all sorts of reason not to.

Of course you find all sorts of reason not to work at fixing the problem you say voting won't fix.

Yet you'll certainly opine at your omnipotence.

Yeah, since he's got his VP picked... What an idiot..

there is definitely a role for someone willing to call a Senior Senator a liar on the Senate floor, regardless of what his ulterior motive was.

Cruz would be a good enforcer - and he'd probably relish the role as an opportunity to rebuild his somewhat tarnished reputation in a presidential bid for 2020 of whenever.

I think Cruz has to rebuild some trust among the base.I really don't blame him for what he's done in an attempt to win the presidency but I do think he badly misread how to get there. Once he realized he lost the role as the "outsider" in the race, he just reverted back to politics as usual.

He can't do that again - unless Trump redefines what the usual politics are.

I think I'd like him as AG - but I still don't believe he is on board for stopping illegal immigration. I just have serious reservations about any first generation American - especially one with dual citizenship being dedicated to stopping mass immigration into this country.

Correct. Cruz was the only conservative in the race. That the majority of republican voters and the establishment don't want that is no surprise. It's not our first rodeo. Gettin' throwed is just part of the ride.

I think he means "base" are people that don't expect one person should redefine "usual politics".
in that context, then its good they're alienated too
I said it last week in my concession, I'll not apologize for backing Cruz and thought him the best candidate but the masses and people want Trump ...so let them eat cake and lay in the bed that has been made...I'll give them a fork and help tuck them in but I didn't bake the cake nor put the sheets on this bed

The alternative to liberal is conservative. Liberals are the Democrat's base, conservatives are the Republican's base. It is not a subjective term that is up for interpretation. There are no conservatives in the race.

You don't have to worry about Dan. He's a good American and used to voting for the lessor of evils.
Cruz wasn't a really a conservative anyway.

But even so, he was phony at whatever he is, and that counts more in politics than what someone claims to hold philosophically.

If he was a true conservative Christian, he would simply quit whining and tearing down someone to whom he lost, gather himself with dignity, chalk it up to "God's timing," and get ready to win the next time around, or the time after.

As it is, he cracked under the pressure, both he and his wife do not have what it takes to survive the demands of the office, and he is now being a sore loser and burning bridges.

He's a political hack who is also a political dimwit. The best he could do is hope for an appointed position that does not require him destroying his family to get there.

if it was only that black and white

There are about 7 definitions of what conservative is.

You were defining it differently every week on here

Its about the 2A

Its about SCOTUS

Its not about immigration

on and on.

Being conservative isn't about whatever it takes to get your candidate elected.

Trump would be a laughing stock if he had not have touched on the some basic ideas that voters wanted. Immigration, bad trade, islamic threats

whether anyone likes it or not, he's (and with the backing of the voting public) has made those conservative principles.

and those opposing it put up a vicious fight - and failed miserably at it

The "so called" conservatives in the GOP leadership positions have folded over for the globalists for so long that the rank and file Republicans have given up on them. The GOP now represents Nationalism.

And before you jump up and start telling me Cruz's conservative bona fides, he was instrumental in working the get the TPP bill passed. The TPP bill is the NAFTA of the new millennia.

And don't try to tell me that he was too stupid to know what it was.

Cruz isn't stupid. He hooked up with Paul Ryan to get TPP passed and he knew exactly what it was.

The reason everybody in Congress hates Cruz is because he was sneaking around doing the same thing the rest of them were, and then throwing them under the bus for doing it.
Well unless you voted I guess you don't have much right bitching about who's there and what they do or don't do

I don't vote for globalists.

They don't represent American interests.

The GOP is lousy with globalists,...has been for quite some time. If the party bosses had their way, this country would have a Republican globalist candidate this time.

Republicans nominated an "America First" candidate this time.

No "double the national debt" George W,...No Manchurian Candidate McCain,...No Mitt Alinsky Romney.

Yeah,..Republicans will turn out to vote this time. For the first time in a *long* time, they've been given a reason to.
At this point the decision is pretty simple.

You either vote for the establishment run by most likely Hillary or you Vote against the establishment and vote for an outsider (Trump) seems like a no brainer to me?

Even if Trump is as bad as his critics say he will be much better than the establishment.

The establishment is how we got where we are today.
They are the true enemy.

I don't give advice easily, but I'm giving it now. Stop acting like a five year old and making up bullshit just to piss off people you need if you expect to have any chance of winning in November. Trump is very unpopular within his own party. Blaming everybody else for his unpopularity will not make anyone like him better. You got him. Now you gotta make the 60% of Republican voters that hate him...not.
at the voting booth in november it's going to be a choice between the hillbilly and the Trumpman, one or the other.

so, once again with feeling, are we going to vote for the lesser of two evils, or remain home while the "activists" choose our next president.

either one is big business as hell. but, neither are harvard law school graduates. we know about those kinds of folks already.

given a choice i'll choose trump every day on twice on sunday rather than the HillBilly. whatever the West Virginia rank & file wants, then that's what me and my kind wants also.

I'm not faulting anyone for not voting for a guy out principle.

In this case though, I'm so scared of Hillary that I would have voted for Cruz even though the Cruz supporters her showed me what a nutcase he was.
