We were invited to a friend from churche's house to do a little shore fishing. My daughter and I went over yesterday and caught a nice batch of big sunfish. The big bulls are just moving in to spawn-every single one was a male. No boat, no depthfinders, no electronics. Just a nice afternoon spent by a father and daughter fishing off a dock with some simple gear and a tub of wax worms. It's nice to get back to basics once in a while.

One of my favorite kinds of fishing. I used to go with my dad in a little john boat, and cast popping bugs toward shore. You could see the honeycomb pattern of their spawning beds, and some of them pushed a pound.
