Recently I switched to Windows 10 format. Since then have experienced hang ups (temporary) and full lock ups. On my first attempt to post this question the program wiped itself clean half way through. Any one else having these problems?

The built-in browser in Win 10 is the problem. The easiest solution is a better browser.

Download Firefox from Firefox and then from within Firefox, go to Tools, then Add ins, then search for the Adblock Plus add in. Let it install and you will be golden.

Similar solution for other browsers -- the Adblock Plus is the key no matter what browser you prefer.
