The death of empires, especially republics, is multiculturalism. Ben Franklin warned that we had a Republic, if we could keep it. Republics are kept by people of the same culture; they are lost when the hands keeping it are not the same. Lincoln, ironically, is the one who said that "a house divided cannot stand". Multiculturalism has divided the house of every empire before ours, and now ours. That always leads to a collapse, just as it is now.

The Greeks and Romans were strongest when they were ruled only by native Greek and Roman citizens. A person could become a citizen by service to the Republic, but could not rule. Their children, if native born, could. There was not amalgamation, but assimilation. When this period for each passed, the republics and the empires decayed from within and fell because the commonality, the unity, was gone. No longer were people "Greek" or "Roman", but they were Gauls, or Phoenicians, etc., and no longer this either empire last.

The same thing happened to the British Empire. "Make the world England" requires assimilation. There were Brits, and British subjects; nothing else. When the differing cultures were allowed and even encouraged to remain separate, the empire weakened and fell.

The same thing happened to the Soviets. When they were all Soviets, they were strong. When they became Chechen, or Cossack, or Belarusian, they fell.

That is what has happened here. The first fatal mistake was the importation of Africans. From there, we kept them separate and did not integrate them fully and quickly; we allowed and encouraged them to become a victim class, and that's always a benefit to political powers against the empire and republic. Andrew Jackson was the first to violate the Constitution and defy unity by his abhorrent treatment of natives; instead of making them Americans, he made them enemies and victims. Lincoln undermined the concept of states rights to a catastrophic degree and created "big gov't", that forces all under it to conform, but allows and encourages differences to be formed between the people. Ironically, Lincoln's plan to deport all Africans back to Africa might have short-circuited much of the problems of multiculturalism that arose from that mistake, but that idea died with him. From there, we allowed the influx of socialists during the 20s-50s, and FDRs policies created the Nanny State; allowing people to live off another's earnings. Johnson and all the rest after him have only further aided and abetted the divisions within the nation; keeping the people divided to keep their own political power and destroying the republic.

The solution, or the result anyway? The answer that history gives us from all those former republics and empires that died due to the disease of multiculturalism is to break up into smaller nations. Humans are tribal; a tribe cannot be multicultural. Just as all the other empires eventually dissolved into smaller nations, each more aligned with their own cultural/tribal identity and have tried to keep true to it, so too might/should/will this one we call America - and from the same fatal disease of multiculturalism.

Divide and conquer. Old as the hills. Diversity/multiculturalism can be good, if the successful parts of the cultures can be ferretted out. Supporting it simply because it is different is stupid. Only add stuff that works. My favorite is the old African proverb, "it takes a village". Most indigenous African cultures are miserably unsuccessful. Why the hell would I take THEIR advice?

I disagree, in part. Yes, ferret out the parts of other cultures that are successful, and add those that work to your own, but MAKE IT YOUR OWN. Assimilation; not amalgamation.

It's called "Balkanization" and we are being destroyed by it. There was a reason as to why immigration virtually stopped in this country from 1920 to 1965 until Fat Ted and the democrats passed the Immigration Act of 1965, AKA the democrat voting drive. That, coupled with feminism, emasculation of the white male and of course Affirmative Action, set this country up for a slow and painful decline..

It's stupid. It's always been stupid. America has never been as free or relatively prosperous as it was when it was composed largely of the descendants of its Anglo/Saxon founders. The fact that it did so well while getting so diverse was testimony to the soundness of the Anglo/Saxon ideas of those founders and our reverence for them. Thus there were in certain parts of the country Jewish Yankees, black rednecks, Italian hillbillies, and Mexican cowboys. But now that those ideas are actively hated and despised as the hate fueled racist rhetoric from a bygone and best forgotten age, diversity will do nothing but continue to divide us.

I don't think there's much we can do. And BTW, the largest ethnic group in the US (still) are those of German descent, followed by Brits and Irish. There's a lesson there.... And here's why we are doomed:

When a people build a first rate nation with hard work and less government control, then give government to much control, share it with millions of third world people that want/need freebies, then cater to their cultures, things will change.

I do believe what makes America great is the melting pot, and the drive of people to better themselves with the promise of opportunity that America provides.

But you can't just open the border of Mexico and let huge sections of the country turn Latino

You were doing very well until "Mexican cowboys", who were real cowboys before we had cowboys.

Besides being Americans who were mostly transplants, our ancestors stuck together in their ethnic groups: Little Tokyo, Chinatown, Little Italy, Harlem, ...etc. And with plenty of slurs and fighting. But each individual and ethnic group was also patriotic and ready to die for their great country and its promise of freedom. That gave us our strength.

Now our government has become so corrupted, working against our freedoms, that our ancestors would think we had been beaten by our eternal enemies, the communists. Who have truly beaten us, from within, via both parties.

To me, this realization is at the heart of the recent nationalistic awakening. It is smeared with the accusation of racism, and maybe it is to some degree, but it is reality. It is a hypothesis that has been proven.

I know some of you think I'm all Stormfront or whatever, but this is at the heart of what I know. I really don't have a problem with other races and I think there is a place for everyone, that place is not together. I think we should be doing what we can to avoid societal meltdown or bring it on sooner so it isn't as severe.

There is a politician in Tennessee that's running with the slogan of "Make America White Again". When I first saw it on the news, I thought to myself that this guy is just asking for it....and with a doubt, he is really getting negative press. But, after listening to him explain his logic, I was in agreement with him. He says that we're letting too many minorities come here, and that it's causing the country to go down the drain....something he is right about. Most of the problems we are facing today are caused by people in this country who are not of the White race, and that's not by any means saying there aren't any problems caused by us Whites....because we contribute greatly to the cause.

It is not the same skin colour that is important, it is having the same values and expectations that are crucial for fitting in and contributing.

It is the reason the Asians do so well, and the indians, the bastard skinnies, and the muslims irritate the living sh t out of everyone.

I got in a big argument one time with a kid that had been a South Korean orphan, adopted into America (Wisconsin). He is a mosaicer, I'm a meltingpotter.
Mosaics are easy to chip at and ruin. Pour alloy from that melting pot after you've skimmed the dross, and you get indestructible. He couldn't figure that out.
