A couple of nights ago I saw a film titled "Peace Officer" (2015). Since this was a year or so ago this may have been discussed previously. The film is about a retired police officer who initiated the first SWAT squad in Utah in the '70s but who now feels these police teams have become too militarized. He seems to have some compelling reasons to support his position.

The majority of police who were asked for their opinions were, IMO, mostly providing CYA responses.

Has anyone else seen this film and if so what was your opinion of it?

Not seen the film but I agree to an extent they are too militarized. Yes they can be needed but IMHO are way over utilized in some locations.

We are still mostly "Peace Officers' in Charlotte County, but if the bad guy really want to dance our troops will certainly teach them some steps.
