Awesome! My daughter spent a whole summer in the San Juan Islands in college, doing orca watching research. She'd have killed to have such a close encounter! The seal, not so much...
There is a video out there of an Killer Whale running up in the surf and snatching a guy off the beach. Poor dude is standing in about knee deep water waving to his wife on the beach when out of nowhere the whale just appears, grabs the guy by the rear end, turns and thrashes its way back to deeper water. There and gone in seconds... a scream from the wife and it's over.
My wife and I spent a week kayaking around Johnstone Strait. We had hoped to see Orcas but did not. The salmon run was late so the resident pod, which follow the salmon, weren't there yet. The transient whales, which focus on seals, are just that; transient, so they are spotted less often. We saw humpbacks, up close, along with other marine mammals, so it was still a good trip. GD

You sure it was real? I've never read of a wild Orca attack on humans, ever. Only in captivity
