Not to worry Queens fans,I hear that there is a qb out in SanFran that will most likely be available in the very near future.
Hope Teddy is ok.
Doesn't look promising for 'Queens fans.

Well, there's that too ! If it weren't for a string of games that led them to the SB a few years ago, he'd be a nothing. Oh, sorry, he is a nothing. W/O football, he wouldn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out. But I digress.
Posted By: SKane Re: Teddy Bridgewater down...... - 08/30/16
Well, that sucks.
Posted By: swag Re: Teddy Bridgewater down...... - 08/30/16
Packers can coast through the division again.
Posted By: Teal Re: Teddy Bridgewater down...... - 08/30/16
That sucks for him. Nice guy - crappy team.

That said - the reality is they should be ok.

All they're looking to do is replace a guy who averages just under 1 TD and almost 1 INT plus 200 ish yards a game.

Seriously - that's not like trying to replace Drew Brees and 5000 yards, 30 TDs a season here.

If GB can win a division while missing Rodgers a good chunk of the year, Vikes should compete. And let's be fair, Rodgers is a larger part of GB's offense than TB is theirs - so long as AP is on that team.

Regardless - hope he recovers. They pulled him off in an ambulance and have him sedated from what I hear - that's not minor.
Teddy actually looked very good this preseason. He had finally settled in and had command of the playbook.

Still, he will never be a serious downfield threat - that's a big edge for defenses that prepare against him.
Posted By: SKane Re: Teddy Bridgewater down...... - 08/30/16
I really hate to see that. I was looking forward to the Vikings and Packers both at full-strength this year.
Hope Teddy can rebound from this injury and get back in time for start of next season.
911 Call said dislocated knee, so not good.
You guys might luck out and get Kaepernick. laugh
Posted By: Teal Re: Teddy Bridgewater down...... - 08/30/16
Read other places that some of the players were physically sick when seeing his leg. Rumor was trauma surgeon. I know he was sedated and pulled off in an ambulance.

Prob a little more than just an ACL or something.

That sucks, I hate to see these young up-and-comers get hurt preseason.
Posted By: Teal Re: Teddy Bridgewater down...... - 08/30/16
Complete ACL tear, some "other" structural damage and dislocated knee.

Done for the year at a minimum.

Stating no nerve damage - per MRI.

No luck in that.
The good news for the Vikings is that after this week there will be lots of QBs on the waiver wires that anyone of them could start for the Queens. Maybe Christian Ponder will find his way back there.
Hate to hear this.

Dunno - they're petty dumb..

From all sources, Teddy's a very nice guy and great teammate. What a freak accident, and it sounds like it's just a season-ending injury; not a career-ending one.

I don't know anything about their backup QB. But I bet they're looking for another one as an insurance factor..
From all reports and details it sounded bad from the beginning. Unfortunately it was. That makes two quarterbacks that have gone down in preseason. Big question locally, is Mark Sanchez with a $4.5M salary staying or leaving? He's the #3 QB on the roster.

Dumb is an understatement. Their current back ups are Shaun Hill and Joel Stave. I was unfortunate enough to watch Stave play at Wisconsin and it was a slow motion train wreck. I couldn't believe anyone would bring him to training camp, even UDFA style.
Posted By: tzone Re: Teddy Bridgewater down...... - 08/31/16
People here are acting like f'n died. he's out for the year. I'm sorry he's hurt but it's not like he was good. He was decent...so are a lot of QB's.

I really think they'll be fine and probably not have a much different record than they would have with him. They have a top 5 maybe top 3 defense in the league.

They attempted the fewest passes in the league last year. It's not like the Packers. If they lost Rogers, they'd be in big trouble. The Vikes have a middle of the road QB for a starter.

That's been the running joke. If you know anything about the coach for the Vikings, I think Zimmer would suit up before he'd have him on the team.

Yeah, well, even a blind squirrel can find an acorn once in a while.. And, IIRC, it's the same 'division leading' team that has STILL never won a Super Bowl...

Nope.

I'm no fan of the Vikings, but Bridgewater was a young man with extremely high character. Hardly a thug.

Just in, the Vikings were interested in Kaepernick until they found out he is also unable to stand.

Still looking.

The guy in the larger photo with Teddy is a highly skilled surgeon and a hero to many. They call him Dr.Arnie.

He saved my daughter's life when she was a little girl.

Have you been to Lambeau field? No different on prices. Last time I was there, it was $9 for a hot chocolate to pour my schnapps into. grin I've been to the stadium a bunch...I work on it. smile I'm not buying GBP for any price tho.

He really is the type of guy the NFL should be after. Rogers too for that matter.

Teddy was pretty disgusted by Chris Carters little "you need a fall guy" speech for the rookies. I don't think you'll find a nicer guy in the NFL than Bridgewater.

Old Mil light is not what I would call a "beer"
My GAF meter appears to be offline.
According to google it's $9.00 for a 20 oz. beer at U.S. Bank.

And at Lameblow if you don't buy any beer and stick that 8 bucks in your pocket every time you want one, you would only have to do that 34.375 times to get enough money to become "part owner of the team!"

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You gotta tailgate before a packers game. Hell, you need to be drunk just to sit through that horrible defense they put on the field.

Nope. The Vikings nor any other team besides the packers con their fans out of $275 / year to claim they OWN the team.
I heard tix for the Pack/Queens game at the Bird Cage is running in the THOUSANDS on the secondary market - and that's for nose-bleeds..

Queens are gonna go DOWN - I'm hopin' for a GB - 70, Queens - 0 by end of game.. That is, if McStupid will continue to step on the gas..

You can hope in one hand and Miller Lite in the other and see which one fills up first. No way that chit Dfense holds any teams to 0 points. including the Baldwin/Woodville Blackhawks.

McStupid will have to step on the gas outta town. They're going to lose to a second or 3rd string qb in MN.
Somewhere there's a Bears fan with hurt feelings, feeling left out.

It's ok Travis. Perhaps a Browns fan will fling insults towards your team.

LMAO!

I will do my best.

PS to the viking fans - Tavaris Jackson needs a job.
I'm guessing they end up with Sanchez, it looks like Denver wants to get rid of him.

That's not a horrible option for back up.

Hill will be good for the first 1/2 of the year.

Stave has an accurate arm and seems to have some strength.

Teddy Bridgewater is the kind of athlete that we need more of. By all accounts he has high moral character, talent and interests in common with many of us, including being an avid outdoorsman. I hope he heals quickly and is back on the gridiron soon.

Got yer season tix for them Queens yet?? I heard the entire home season's sold out.. Gotta be the first time in, what, 50 years??? Only due to the Bird Cage - ala Target field when that opened..

It's a single time purchase price. Not a yearly fee.

I'd much rather pay a one time fee to help out my team and hang that certificate up in the garage than pay 150 bones for some player's jersey who might not be there in 3 weeks.

How pissed do you have to be to pay 150 for a Moss jersey, he leaves so you pony up another 150 for a Harvin jersey and then he's gone so you give it one more go for a Christian Ponder jersey. You're 450 into the team for something that wears out, doesn't represent the team etc.

How is buying a stock certificate that everyone knows doesn't confer any real rights for 275 dumber than paying for a player's jersey over and over as they get traded, cut or arrested?

When I first moved up here I used to see Two Martini Tommy in the Applebee's over by Ridgedale all the time. He was so drunk in there one night he literally couldn't even talk, and could barely hold his head up. He went out and threw for like 300 yards the next day. The hangover had to have been historic.

A man shouldn't be wearing a shirt with another mans name on the back. The only jersey I have is a Vikings caved jersey. Hangs on the wall for all the packer fans to look at.

I'm not a jersey guy tho I could probably like a Gordie Howe sweater or something...

Havent heard Tommy Kramer in a long time
Tyler Heinicke is still on the Vikes roster albeit currently on the PUP.

He showed well in preseason last year. I was really looking forward to watching him this preseason but the dumb ass injured his leg breaking in to his own house. Sounds like he can't practice for another 3 weeks yet.

You are correct in that Stave does have a strong arm. If you watch more than one game however you will see that his accuracy/consistency is highly suspect. You'll have noted that he also fumbled the ball away the only two times he was hit in game #3. That is Stave in a nutshell - one step forward, two steps back. He is a big, strong armed guy and physically very tough. Unfortunately he is also a statue in the pocket and has little awareness of where the hits will be coming from. You don't win a lot of NFL games in which your QB turns the ball over twice.
